Anyone else having the problem with voice panning overloading the CPU in the Beta with multi threaded on? With no voice panning I can easily play all 16 voices now on my core i7, but as soon as I pan voices the CPU load jumps up like crazy.

I'm running Vista 64 with Cubase 32 bit v5.5.3. I haven't tested the 64 bit beta version yet.

Yes, I can confirm that.

Need to check some internals.... weird...

Great to hear about the multicore support. Is there any news on VST 3 support? (I run my DAW in 64-bit on the Mac)

We have it running internally without much of a problem (the gui is a few pixels displaced and presets browsing doesn't update settings yet). However, we left it aside to fix the bugs in Diva first. VST3 Mac should be out there shortly after Diva 1.1 is ready to roll Smile

Hi,

thanks for reporting again. I found and fixed that bug: We forgot to set some flags on the new threads which caused increased load when something (like the right channel) went to zero.

Will be fixed in the next beta.

Cheers!

I tested the Demo of Diva and found a few issues. This is on Windows 7x64, and Sonar X1. I have an I7-2700k:

1. The multithreading only uses 4 cores in Sonar. Now Sonar is supposedly optimized for multcore processing and that may or may not have an affect on it, but It's definitely only using 4 cores out of 8.

2. When you use the Beta version of Diva with Automap, it totally crashes automap and hangs the session. The previous version never did this. Automap uses a wrapper around the DLL in order to access the automap parameters. But it crashes the plugin with multhread on or off.

3. If you run the 32bit DLL of Diva in a 64bit DAW and use either Bitbridge or JBridge, it totally crashes the Sonar session. The previous version did not do this. I know most people will use the 64bit plugin within th 64bit DAW, but you never know when someone will do otherwise. I do it from time to time because Sonar takes over the keyboard and it's a bit of a pain to save presets.

Anyway, I will send an email to your support email address of these findings.

Our Multicore implmentation only makes sense with physical cores, not virtual cores (hyperthreading).

This might be because of a possible change in the parameter structure or similar. We have not yet checked this beta version for a consistent parameter list.

Hmmm, not sure what that is. Maybe bridged plugins can't be multithreded? Definately use the 64-bit version in 64-bit host.

@ URS and Team

Genius.

Multithreaded working perfectly for me on i7 laptop 64 bit with cubase and maschine.

It's like having a new PC, I can run big polly patches in Devine no problem, this really sets he bar now, the best sound and moderate CPU use! I have no doubt this release will be well received and will win you even more plaudits. Now Diva really does deliver on every level for me.

The multi-threading is great. I am playing nearly everything realtime in Divine mode! Here is an audio example of my latest sound (plus modulations) made with Diva.

That's great.
I only have a coreduo2 mbp, so I'm not expecting any noticeable improvement.

She'll actually act a bit like a refurbished analogue synth. We fixed some little bugs that cause subtle but audible improvements to the audio quality Shocked

We'll recommend to render all existing projects before upgrading.
