Well, this will be a "what's the best reverb" thread in a few seconds so I'll start with my favorite reverb: ValhallaRoom HiHi

But there really is no perfect reverb for a lead sound. What kind of lead sound? What do you want the reverb for? And so on.

I like huge modulated reverbs on leads to get that bladerunner-ish sound but very small rooms can work as well.

It's all a matter of tase Smile

Cheers
Dennis

i like Eareverb. sounds very natural, not artificial.

if you want a dance/techno lead sound, you might want to try Toraverb or Arts Accoustic Reverb.

One way to think about reverb is distance.Big or long reverb times give you a sound that is pushed away from the listener whilst short reverb time make the sound more immediate or closer to the listener.You can spend a lot of money on a hi end hardware reverb or plugins but choose one within your budget and become familiar with it , ValhallaRoom is great value for money .Rob Papen's reverb is also good.As Bronto Scorpio said all types of reverbs can work well with lead sounds but it depends on where you want that sound to be in the mix far away or in your face.
Cheers

Don't just use reverb, use dynamics on the way in (compression and/or gating/expansion depending on the effect you're after, whether you want to emphasise some parts or duck them or stop strong notes from obscuring the ones that follow ) and - very important - EQ on the way out to deal with any resonance and knock the reverbed sound back a little if you have to (by cutting in the presence and sibilance bands, typically). This also has the benefit of letting you use just about any reverb you like: people tend to favour Lexicon-like reverbs for this which are usually quite dark in character. VRoom has specific dark modes but an additional EQ can do a lot to get there. Naturally, you need to use an aux or return channel for this or an effects chain in Live.

And mess with the predelay to help with the groove, assuming this is for club music.

If the lead sound isn't too percussive I'd suggest to try the "reverbs" from Valhalla Übermod or uhe MFM2. Those presets are very dense delays with lots of modulation. Sometimes this sounds better than a pure reverb fx and makes the sound very wide.
Demoing stw-audio ReflexPro2 at the moment. Sounds good for me and many cool modulations/pitch shifting/saturation possibilities. But the gui is a bit blurry and small. 29€ introductory offer!
My go to reverb is VRoom without any question. Great for short drum rooms or drowning in space orgies. Looking forward to the update.

@Sampleconstruct:
Hi Simon, purchased the MFM2 Beat Twista yesterday. Tried with µTonic and it instantly put a smile on my face. Thumbs Up!

Happy Easter,
Gerald
