I've uploaded a release-candidate for Xhip. This version includes many bug-fixes and improvements. The most noticeable change is an updated GUI background done by Branis.

Do not post news about this or write about it on your blog. The full release will happen in approximately one week. If you wanted to write about it, you could mention that there is a release scheduled for approximately next week and bug-testing is on-going. I do not want to have a large number of people downloading an untested version that potentially contains serious bugs. Unless they are specifically aware of this and are downloading it for the purpose of testing with the intent to report bugs back to me to be fixed before the release! OK for now no crashes and no unexpected behavior.
1 little thing... can the gui be a bit bigger ? It is too small on my 23 inch monitor in its native res of 2048x1152.. The (very) old paged gui version was ok for me because all controls were big enough. ---- [====[\\\\\\\\]>------, Ay caramba ! |

Hmm... glide doesn't work ? OR am i doing something wrong ??????
[edit] In some presets it works but in some other presets it doesn't... (probably just an user error) for now i give up because i am too tired after fixing my bicycle today and my mind isn't clear enough... [edit2] Ah ! I had the knob at max and there was no glide but when i changed it to min the glide returned ---- [====[\\\\\\\\]>------, Ay caramba ! |

No GUI - Black screen with sounds using Minihost 1.64.
Stupid niggle for sure, but...On the GUI your tag line under the logo is missing its H, xe should read xhe. |

yes, that's possible. i'd just need to multiply everything. fonts, bitmaps, window size, control positions. it's a fair amount of work and one major issue there is that there will be as many people asking for a smaller version to run on a netbook at the same time it's still possible to have multiple guis and i want to make it possible to "skin" more fully in the future. that will mean applying the layout using some kind of script rather than completely in code. some parts of that are fairly easy while others are more difficult. i don't think it'll happen any time soon because i want to focus on the really critical aspects. isn't there a tool available to zoom the window? probably only on vista/win7, but i think there should be one.
yes it has always been backward and i've changed the text but not the action of the control yet. that's in the todo list also, i forgot to post that.
this is definitely an aim. there is a x64 version already available, i should post that here too. a mac port requires a little extra work and as usual access to a mac. this is a very important issue for my commercial releases as mac makes up a very significant portion of the market.
i'll need to test that. there is no reason i can think of for that to happen. if it had some sort of issue it should have given you a message box explaining why.
i'll note that, i think the font needs a little adjustment (too aliased) and needs to be slightly larger/more space as well. |

regarding no gui in minihost - minihost does not obey the vst spec 2.4 and does not call the editor's idle function.
i can launch my own thread and call it myself in such a situation which is something i've considered. i would rather if the host would obey the spec. |

Thanks for your work on this, it's such a great synth. The sound is really something special, and I like the focused set of features supporting it. |

HA ! First crash...
I just tried to put in a second instance on its own track and it loaded and started working properly, but when i doubleclicked it to open the GUI... the GUI opened 100% black and boom ! REAPER crashed to desktop. That happened after about 45 minutes of playing with almost all possible knobs. Normally (just after loading REAPER and my default synth testing project) i can load as many instances with opened and properly rendering GUI as my PC has RAM for. ---- [====[\\\\\\\\]>------, Ay caramba ! |
