I've been using eXT2 now for a couple of weeks on my new home-built PC (running 64-bit Win7 Home).

I've noticed that dragging and dropping samples,VST's, project files, etc. onto the eXT GUI no longer loads the dropped item like it did when running on my old PC (running 32-bit WinXP). Everything now must be loaded from the eXT browser.

Is this a known issue / behavior?

TIA,
SWTrex

Any one?

Can someone please acknowledge whether this is a common issue or not?

Hm, it works for me... I am using Win7 Ultimate x64 and it loads everything via drag'n'drop. Maybe you should make sure you have started application in your own name space, like administrator, with all the privileges, because it makes a problems sometimes even in windows explorer, because some applications are UAC enabled, but seems don't aware who is currently running it. Copy Energy XT maybe somewhere to your namespace, like documents folder or similar

Works for me too on Win7 Professional 64 bit.
Like kejkz said it could well be an issue with UAC.
I encountered similar annoyances with other programs in context with UAC.
IIRC I once started windows explorer as Admin (or was it as 'Limited User'?) from SysInternal's Process Explorer and then drag'n'drop didn't work anymore. I guess it also wouldn't have worked then when dropping on XT2.

Good thoughts, guys. Thanks. I'll fiddle with it when I get home.

Back home now...

The issue seems to be related to the eXT2 version (not a UAC issue).

After some experimentation, here's what I know:

The executable I've been using is version 2.6, dated 11/26/2011. Drag and Drop from a Win7 Explorer window does not work.

I found another archived version 2.6 on my hard drive, dated 11/24/2011. Drag and Drop from a Win7 Explorer window does work.

I also found a version 2.5.4 dated 9/29/2010. Drag and Drop a Win7 Explorer window does work.

So the most recently-dated version I have is the problem child. However, to investigate further, I just re-downloaded version 2.6 from the eXT site, installed it, and discovered that it's executable is dated 11/24/2011! So where did I get a version dated 11/26 ??

Anyway, apparently the problem is solved. Thanks for listening.
