Reaper "save as project default setting" woes.

I cannot get this to work for simple things like "record arm tracks when selected" or "record overdub" as before. The reaper forum has provided NADA (which is infuriating and surprising) The way it always worked was to make it that way, select "project settings" and then select "save as project default settings". This is not working as expected.

thanks for any help

Was anything changed in your preferences recently? Confused

I've had it occur once then did not see it ever again afterwards so I am not really sure if that may have had anything to do with it.

I had to reinstall reaper. I didn't save any of that stuff because I didn't want to carry over previous issues.

Hm, aren't those options defined in the normal settings? That is, under Preferences -> Project -> Track/Send Defaults -> Recording config. That's where I set them at least. Those settings then apply to all newly created tracks. But maybe I misunderstood your problem.
