Just, when you sit down to do some actual work, some might find the idea of isolating themselves very rewarding. It's not for everyone, true. But why think less of someone simply because of his preferred workflow? No good, I say.
I am not thinking less of anyone, why do you think that is what I said? |

No, true, that's not what you said. Don't want to put words in your mouth. But you said you're likely to ignore their work if they ignore yours. That's what I meant. |

There is a difference in workflow when making my own music, and not being interested in hearing the music (or patches) of others. I bought Kriminal's Diva patches, but I think in the future I'll save my money and make my own, because I can. I bought them because the work of others interests me, and supporting other's efforts also interests me. But the mood of others also interests and affects what I will buy also |

You mean when you don't like their attitude? I can relate to that. I have that with Mike Patton, don't dig his attitude, but I do like his music. Creates an annoying tension in me. |

I must admit the mood of the 'show me the documentation' thing is also influencing how I perceive Kriminal's comments. |

Well he did apologize for his stubbornness though when proven wrong. Gotta give the man some credit. |

It wasn't exactly an admission, and he had to consult 'an expert' we all weren't good enough for him |

A quick question to those who perceived an improvement in sound quality: Was that between v1 and the new v2.5, or between v2 and v2.5?
Maybe not super relevant, but it's back on topic. |

So can somebody talk about how cool/not cool the additional non-Jupiter functionality is, that really interests me. |

The unshushable Coktor wrote: I'm also deleting presets more and more, simply to give me a "blank slate" sort of feeling when dealing with a new plugin. It means complete freedom without being to influenced by all the presets you've just gone through. It's refreshing really. +1 let me clarify as some are getting the wrong idea (or im not explaing very well). I like other ppl's work, use to use it a lot, but these days i prefer to roll my own, its my own personal choice. I dont feel obliged to use other ppl sounds and nor should anyone. I have a lot of respect for ppl who are good at what they do in any field. Im not saying anyones work is worthless cos i dont use it, far from it. I would say all my sounds in the last 5-7 years have come from beta testing synths. These usually come with zero sounds in alpha/beta stages, and when im testing i make sounds as part of that. 80% are crap and get deleted and i keep the ones i like. Some go into factory banks, some dont. This is how i work all the time now, blank slate, start afresh.... By the time testing is finished the last thing i feel like doing is going thru 3000 presets. I listen to a lot of them anyway while testing, ppl always put up small audio demos for other testers to check out etc... make sense or am i wasting my time? |
