This one took 10 hours to record in April 2010. The April 2012 remix took about 17 hours. Again, the original session was difficult and when I listened to it 2 years on, I was not happy. The remix consisted of re-ordering the track, adding/deleting complete sections. I also had technical problems with various VSTis. I had to remove some of them completely, whilst I persevered with others. Hopefully the next track will be less trouble, but the one after that........
I suppose this track is part of the TranceFusion series, and combines '70s, '80s and '90s elements. mp3/192Kbps/7:18/10.3MB or, on SoundCloud at 320Kbps http://soundcloud.com/whatsisname/gates-of-distraction Recorded in EnergyXT2.5.2/Remixed in EnergyXT2.6 Astralis Orgone Lite CM amb Electra Bass EnergyXT Drum Sampler Antopya RedTron Arch Avenger Pro 2.5 Rez V2.0 Drumatic 3 Poizone CM Dominator Superior Drummer 2.3 NI Pro-53 IK Classik Studio Reverb dblue Glitch EnergyXT Delay T-Racks Linear Phase EQ T-Racks Opto Compressor T-Racks Vintage Equalizer T-Racks Brickwall Limiter |

Colour me intrigued. Give us a hint... I just listened to "Offsets" last week, and was a lot happier with how it sounded 2 years later. Add to that the fact that the VSTis involved do not have a history of "playing up" and that I already have a couple of ideas for updating it. Should be a walk in the park. But then again............. |

An excellent selection of synthesised morsels as always!
You really should have been in a synth pop band in 1985 |

Great stuff as usual Tim - the sense of 3 decades' worth of styles and sounds is really strong on this track. Like Tangerine Dream and Depeche Mode jamming in BT's studio |

Thanks very much for listening. I'm glad you liked it Good luck with the back-catalogue. That will take some real perseverance (and about 4 hours) |
