Hi Everyone!
I tried to finish a track in exactly 1 hour including sound design, mixing etc.....this is the result. http://soundcloud.com/bronto-scorpio/perception-shift You can tell that the track is quite empty in some places...I wanted to add another synth but I ran out of time! I hope some of you enjoy it nontheless! No samples or presets were used in this track (As always). Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. I hope everything will be back to normal soon. I tried to finish a track in a day and am taking a week. This is no good hobby for a neurotic perfectionist. Especially us "I don't do preset" types... At any rate, it's very cool to set boundaries like that. 1 hour is awesome. |

This gradually becomes fantastically lush, in an 8-bit kind of way |

Yeah, I know that feeling But this time I really wanted to stop after an hour, no matter if the track is ready or not! tehlord wrote: I'm not fcuking joking. I never would have finished the track so "fast" without it! The melody never repeats by the way! Very inspiring sound somehow (at least for me). It practically wrote itself core wrote: This gradually becomes fantastically lush, in an 8-bit kind of way Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. This is great. Perception shift is an apt name for this. Love how it moves from pure rawness toward something more spacious and epic. Working at this speed obviously suits you. I hate to be all geeky and single out a particular sound for praise, but that kick drum in this is deliciously fat. Great work! |

Great work. I love the character and the evolution of the sounds through this track. I'll have another listen to this again tomorrow....loud.
My current remix has taken me 5 hours so far, and I think the track is now worse than when I started |

1 hour? that's a lot you did there + it's cool! I challenge you to work another hour but have the same energy like you're building something new! ...this is where it gets tricky for everyone! Try the best spontaneous thus new workflow you can think of + feel free to do things differently (in cases even opposed to what you're usually doing) just try it! You may be amazed on what you can do .. I think it's already there, you just have to find a way to let it out! Good luck and have fun! |

Thanks everyone I'm glad you like this little experiment! seismic1 wrote: My current remix has taken me 5 hours so far, and I think the track is now worse than when I started I know that feeling! It's one of the reasons why I made this "experiment" Sorry for the late reply btw. Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. Really great track. I'd have thought the same if it had taken you a full-day to do it. |
