I'm having trouble finding an answer to this on Steinberg's site:
For the second time, I'm being laid off from a multimedia company. My boss has turned over his Steinberg licenses to me (as he has no use for them), and they're registered under his name. I am the audio engineer here, and I access and administer this Steinberg (and all audio) account(s). I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer the licenses to another account? Anybody ever done something like this? ---- ![]() |

If your boss registred the licenses, then they are here : https://www.steinberg.net/en/mysteinberg.html
If you complete the resell wizard it just tell you the same. If he didnt made a mysteinberg account, the license is like "new" anyways. This mysteinberg thing is just for support. But you should register there, if something happens to the dongle. Last edited by whet on Fri May 04, 2012 2:48 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Just delete them and make a new account for urself, then register.
From the site: Log in to your MySteinberg account. Click on "Show Registered Products". Click on "REGISTERED USB-ELICENSERS/STEINBERG KEYS OR SOFT-ELICENSERS" Beneath the entry of the USB-eLicenser holding the license you wish to sell, click on "DELETE REGISTRATION". A new page opens on which you need to confirm the deletion by clicking on "DELETE REGISTRATION" again. As soon as the deletion has been completed the program can be sold as unregistered software. The re-registration can be made by the new owner and does not differ from the registration of newly purchased Steinberg software. |

I guess Steinberg has a pretty lax resell policy! ---- ![]() |

Yeah, thats one positive thing i can say about their policies . Well before they made this online form , you had to send around physical reg. letters until 2006. |

Quick question: if I delete the registration right now from the his My Steinberg account, but still have the license on that same USB Key, will Cubase still run? ---- ![]() |
