Hello all,
I have a simple question that has probably been answered before but I haven't found an answer yet so here it goes...

I want to bring my small Edirol PCR-300 on stage with a laptop and use it as my synth. I have an Edirol UA-25 audio interface that I run MIDI to. Downloaded ASIO4ALL as well as MidiHost. Loaded up Synth1 (nice little free synth in case you haven't heard) and thought everything would work out greeeeat. Well, I can get sound by using the mouse to strike the virtual keyboard but NOTHING when I play the Edirol Midi Controller.

I tried looking through all the settings and reading the manuals, but my PC isn't recognizing the UA-25 Interface's MIDI. Maybe I'm missing something simple- these things always seem like a headache but I get the idea eventually. Thanks for any help.

I forgot to mention that I downloaded a couple of VST hosts and have the same problem with both of them. Downloaded MiniHost as well as Chainer.

The process to install should go-> install driver for your operating system, windows should recognize it and say it's installing, then choose it as MIDI input in your vsthost.

Your keyboard should be able to plug directly into your laptop via usb, try that without the audio interface and see if minihost sees it... You may need to download the driver from the Roland site. They should have the drivers for your audio interface also.

Why would you use something like ASIO4ALL for a piece of hardware that most certainly has native ASIO dirvers? You should definitley install the UA-25 drivers, and that way you'll have both the audio ports AND the MIDI ports available.
