Hello all,

I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help/advise me. I'm running the latest version of Analogue Laboratory on a Mac Pro which itself has OS X Snow Leopard installed. Analogue Lab works fine as a stand alone but as soon as I start Cubase 4.5.2, Cubase crashes as it tries to initialize AL. I've moved the AL VST file out of the VST folder and Cubase works fine. I've tried upgrading to Cubase 6 but still the same problem.

Any ideas?

Analog Laboratory and Cubase share the same protection scheme; did you try to update the eLicenser Control Center?

I have updated the eLicenser Control Centre. As Cubase crashes the Mac generates its usual crash report as pasted below. Both Cubase and AL will operate fine provided I don't try to initiate AL as a VST preset in Cubase which I'm guessing indicates that the eLCC is up to date?

Try deleting the AL VST file, then reinstall from the latest version.
Make sure the standalone version runs just fine, with no error message.
If and only if so, try again to instantiate the VST in Cubase.
If still no luck, please fill a Tech Support inquiry at Arturia's.

Thank you for the advice. I initially did as you suggested when I first spotted the problem and consequently filled a Tech Support inquiry with Arturia two weeks ago. Am hopeful that they will reply.

The solution is simple: give the vst more read&write permission using {get info} - right mouseclick. I noticed I had to give my password to move the vst whlie not with other vst's. It works fine now.

Since I posted the problem I changed systems to Pro Tools 9 software edition. I now have a problem with AL in that it loads up as a plug in but produces no sound output at all - if you have any suggestions I'd be grateful.

I am demoing latest analog lab right now in snow leap and latest cubase 6, and it crashes cubase INSTANTLY.

As will be seen from my original post in 2011, every time I tried to run Cubase 4 after installing the VST of Arturia's Analogue Laboratory, C4 would crash at the point of initiating AL. Following some excellent advice from ajtdebruin the problem was resolved until that is I updated Analogue Lab to the current release. Since then, I'm back to the same problem that it C4 crashes as it initiates AL at the C4 splash screen. I've changed the read/write permissions of AL - no change. I've also moved the AL plug in from within the VST folder but this time it's had no impact on C4 running, it still crashes. If anyone out there has a solution, I'll be greatly appreciative.
