Just to add - Prior to the MPK49, I used a Korg KONTROL49. I really liked it, the keys played well and it was a pretty solid keyboard, knobs sliders and all, for what was available at the time. The tiny wheels were a negative for me, but the missing aftertouch was the bigges treason I threw it over for the MPK. (I still have it and use it live on occasion & the velocity response is superb)
I'm surprised and saddened that KORG dropped KONTROL, and instead opted out of the serious market with their mini "toy" key controllers. I always hoped they'd continue on and add aftertouch and maybe a 61 key version. |

Hello,
I have read the complete thread and I wonder why nobody talks of the Impulse. The SLMKII has got more knobs and buttons, yes, but lacks of the pads, roll, and arpeggiator. The Impulse seems to have all what the Akai have, plus a less stiff keyboard. I was very undecided between MPK and SLMKII, but now I thing the solution is the Impulse |
