How nice to see someone finally making something like this.

As to capabilities; if the final product could do everything that Oatmeals waveeditor can do (partial editing, spectral blur, FM, contract/expand, etc.) i would already be satisfied. Cool

I've noted your feature requests in the initial post Smile

Here is another UI test for the project. We're also testing out the name "WaveDesigner" as Brok Landers had suggested in the previous pages. Also, there is obviously quite a bit of empty space, which is present only to compensate for additional sections/features if necessary:

We are currently organizing the total feature requests and format support requests received here and through e-mail, and because of the high cost required to research and add some of the more intricate requests, we've decided to run a poll determining the project's public interest. The initial response has been very good, but putting a number to something like may help us determine the most financially viable path for our resources. Your participation is very much appreciated Smile

I would reach out to Native Instruments to see if there is an opportunity to export to Massive. I realize it's a long shot since they currently don't allow for importing of costum wavecycles. But then again, if you do succeed to collaborate with them, you'll be able to tap into quite a large installed userbase. Worth a shot IMO (and I'd love to be able to import in Massive Smile)

Well, anything is possible, so I'll mention this and see if we can connect with them somehow Smile

Yes, probably worth the long shot, cuz that thing would effing print money.
Worst case, the response will contain some clue about the future of this functionality in Massive that you can report back to us! Smile

Or, maybe a 'rogue user' on your forums will create a 'hack' to your product that goes 'viral' and is 'out of your control', that...
allows users to create their own tables.dat file for Massive... Very Happy

Ching-a-ling!
I cannot understand why NI is not making such a thing available.
It has apparently already been done by users, with some inconvenient caveats.

My advice would be to go halfway; Figure out how to create custom wavetables with your tool, and let the frantic users figure out how to best make them work in your forums....

I would assume that they don't see much of a market in it unless they develop a fully featured tool, such as this, which they may not see as a viable revenue creating project after considering the development costs. We, on the other hand, are not under the financial strain of such a company, and can take our time putting this project together Smile

As a side note, we're interested in the opinion of even those who will ultimately get the device for free (subscribers, developer library users) Smile

I'll soon start doing presets for Tone2 ElectraX and this would be the perfect tool for both the Resyntheis and the sample import feature of that one.

Same about Synthmaster 2.5 for single cycles, wavetables and vector synthesis.

So far i'm using Cableguys Curve for such kind of stuff but that new tool seems to be more flexible and easier to get fast results. Anyway a free draw mode like in Curve would be essential.

The freehand mode will more than likely come in shortly after the initial V1 release. It's quite a bit more work to add that most other features, and depending on the feedback and interest received, we'll probably try to introduce the product to our library users first in order to generate the required revenue to continue the development of the advanced features. Once a majority of the feedback has been received over the next few days, we will generate a final feature list and I will present that here once I have it Smile

Unfortunately most developers don't have the luxury of working at a slower pace, due to financial considerations and obligations. I think that because of the financial restraints on most developers with many employees and large marketing requirements, most rely on the projects that are the most popular and commercially friendly, and not the ones which influence advancements in workflow and efficiency. Hopefully this can be a project that we are able to accomplish in a reasonable time, and with user feedback in mind Smile

Just a bump for those who have not seen this yet, as we will be making a decision tonight regarding the development cycle and I will update the discussion with official release plans here tomorrow at some point Smile

Speaking of the interface, it's over3D'ed and knobs a very blurred in my opinion. Rolling Eyes
