I'm currently trying to decide if i would get the izotope alloy or the mixing budle from fabfilter. I have read about features, downloaded and tries demos, seen youtube videos etc. Alloy seems to be the better one (it also has the nice presets you can learn from, and everything is multiband and very flexible), but i really like the fabfilter interface and the way it works. I do however have one feature i really would like to have which i dont see in either of these and thats cross-track spectrum analyzer just like you have in voxengy glisseq (cant imagine why alloy doesnt have this, or fabfilter). I dont really want to buy alloy or fabfilter bundle in addition to glisseq when there already is a nice eq in both alloy and fabfilter, but being able to see two or more tracks in real-time to see conflicting frequencies, for example for all the basses saves me a headache to say the least.

So, my question is, what would you choose?

Personally i'd go for Fabfilter, I like the interfaces and the workflow.
It's best to demo them and see what suits you best.
Have you checked out the PSP plug-ins? They are excellent as well

The two products have a radically different price. Fabfilter effects are ergonomically unmatched and they are sonically great, but I'm not sure it justifies the premium. Here's what I would consider:

For $130 less than the FabFilter mixing bundle, you get Alloy and Ozone.

If this is going to be your main set of mixing plugs here's checklist comparison of things that are missing in the other product:

Fabfilter $579
- Timeless (delay--a great delay)

Alloy+Ozone Bundle $449
- Limiter (both track and mastering limiters)
- Multiband, parallel/serial dynamics (gating, compression, limiting)
- De-essing
- Matching EQ
- Transient control (including multiband)

That's all fact, so now I'll get into opinion:

- Timeless is neat but probably not that useful
- Ozone 5 is phenomenal (you could argue that so is Pro-L but the Fabfilter mixing bundle doesn't give you a limiter, so that makes it the iZotope bundle a no-brainer at $130 less)
- Saturn is probably better than iZotope's exciter, but there are lots of great saturation/tape/tube plugs that are super-cheap--look at Toneboosters and SKNote.
- If you don't already have a good de-esser and do vocals you need one.
- Transient control is really nice to have and you don't realize how nice it is until you've used it.
- Overall the iZotope bundle gives you much more and saves you cash.

the fab filter pro -Q is so far and beyond the simple eq in alloy it's not even a comparison, so it depends what you are looking for.

I will describe alloy like this and i *really* mean when i say this as i think all it's tools are average..

Everything alloy does can be done better with alternative indi plugins if you have the slots available in your daw.

Ozone 5 over Pro-L , yes i do agree with that as overall ozone offers much more for the same price or even less.

Oh the alloy deesser is useless by the way, by the time it is working effectively the vocal is dull.

I'd not worry about having everything from one dev.. just list the categories you want to cover and get the best tool for each category.

EQ - pro Q or equality no doubt about it

Deesser - sonnox or SPL or a good multiband comp (vengeance)

Multi band dynamics - Vengeance multi band comp is incredible, ozone is ok too

SAT/DIST - so many options..fabfilter a good choice

Delay - i like the AD stuff for overall ease of use and results

etc, etc

DMG audio bundle + Izotope Ozone and you are good to go. :p

Why? Cause i think they are around the same price with the fabfilter bundle. Personally i like equality and compassion.
