If you're up for something with a beat, but with greater cheese factor, here it is:
Night Drive (again no processing whatsoever, this time not even the limiter). Spot those lead lines going down below into the nether regions. Phase47 wrote: Himalaya: make the same thing for DIVA. (Please!)
It's on my radar. fisherKing wrote: analog or digital pants? this is the kvraudio forums, so it matters... You're absolutely tight, it does matter. Hence they will be made from paper mache. With extra glitter. TommyBear wrote: I don't know if you've heard that band, but the general sound, timbre reminds me of Ayreon. Very nice!
I shall check them out tonight. |

Yes, I have to admit that one really does have a vintage analog sound. Quite a good demo of both your programming skills and what Saurus is capable of. Well done! |

It's for Saurus.
and here another one, more dark, moody, spaced out and very 1970s: TOTEMVOLT No processing of any kind, turn up the volume. |

That sounds really good! I have to try Saurus again. Any general hints on getting those kinds of sounds out of Saurus? |

You can certainly get analog sounds out of it but if you push the settings on the filter/resonance/feedback, I find it gets harsh and even aliases. I'm not sure if it's right for me but I will keep thinking about it. Having the demo stop working after 10 minutes is also a major turn off. |

FrantzM wrote: but if you push the settings on the filter/resonance/feedback, The 'pushing' has to be done with care. For example, teh much maligned feedback is extremely useful. Here is a bass preset with feedback set to max. Drive is set to 1 o'clock, the 'tube' effect is also at work here, and together with a closed cutoff, it gives a very solid, full, overdriven yet dark bass: Bass - Feedback Driven Notice how full it is, and yet how Saurus has manged to keep the attack, the 'snappiness'. This sound is used in the TOTEMVOLT track (from 1;16min) to provide a very solid bass end, which is defined and comes through all other bassy sounds. Very useful. Here is the actual preset for you to try: www.electric-himalaya.com/stuff/Saurus/BA_Feedback_Driven.zi p Please note: this preset is only usable in the low to mid octaves. It disintegrates in the higher octaves, however since it is a bass patch, this shouldn't matter. The thing with Saurus is, it has a great range, so it can be taken from the very lush and 'analog' to the very digital. Much like Cypher, which also was/is misunderstood. I will send you a selection of my new presets to try quickly and use as building blocks, so you can get a good start using the demo. |

Hi Gosh, This one will be sold via my own site. I haven't released any sound banks directly for a long time as I was occupied with lots of 3rd party work. I really wanted to have a new sound bank though, which I could put on my website, so this is the result. I'm happy you like the demos. |

Really awesome demo - was like a long lost JMJ track!! Really excellent programming. Loved it!!
(better JMJ type demo than anything from synthix which was supposed to have been closer.) I do have to agree with one of the other comments that saurus isn't 'quite' there for emulation in pure audio terms. Not really a challenger to the Diva crown imo. You mentioned Cypher, which I think sounds really great - do you prefer that over Saurus still now you've used both in depth? Again, awesome sounds a playing!! . |
