All of the sounds on here are really sweet. This track also seems to have a very clear mix. I'm not saying your earlier tracks weren't clear, but this sounds really clean. Is this possibly the result of your equipment rejig? Lovely lead sound on here, but the yellow Rhodes again shines through as does that bass synth at the beginning.
Lovely track |

Thanks for checking this out seismic.
Yes, earlier versions were trying stuff out. The outboard compression has a longer attack time now, so more transients I guess, and I pulled the makeup gain down. Glad you like it. |

Sounds quite good overall. I did hear a few crackles. Perhaps you clipped in a few spots or there was a problem with the MP3 conversion.
I realize you are intentionally bathing everything in reverb but I might back it off a touch on some of the lead sounds and keep the reverb heavy on the background drones to create more depth to the soundscape. Which model reverb are you using? Lexicon? Finally I would have preferred it to be more minimal and sparse. It was fairly busy for a piece that was sort of ambient. I didn't feel all of the parts were absolutely essential. |

thanks for this FrantzM, didn't spot any clipping, I'll give things another listen.
Reverb is KSP8 which is new and I am still learning, and Lexicon PCM70 and MPX1...hopefully I'll get to sensible use sometime, although, ahem, I have been trying for a while now to get the PCM70 off the psychoechoes patch. I hear you about the business. |

I clearly hear a small crackle at 2:23. There are several other spots as well. fateamenabletochange wrote: Reverb is KSP8 which is new and I am still learning, and Lexicon PCM70 and MPX1...hopefully I'll get to sensible use sometime, although, ahem, I have been trying for a while now to get the PCM70 off the psychoechoes patch.
If one reverb is good, three is much better! Keep it up. You made some gorgeous sounds there. |

thanks for that, much appreciated...have to listen louder. hhhmmm, it is the Diva out thru KSP8 via AES...shouldn't be clipping, meters aren't showing it, I'll try another patch, could be a dicky digital connection, might take a bit to track down. thanks again |

Ah, Diva. That makes perfect sense. I bet Diva's spiking the CPU and causing your DAW to crackle. You are probably playing Diva in Divine mode. Can you render the Diva track first and then send the WAV to the reverb? That should fix it. |

much enjoyed this, we seemm to have the same relaxed, open space, style. agree with tim, that lead sounded sweet. sounded clean and full on this end edit: i downloaded the song and played the part at 2:23, unless you already removed the crackle, i could not hear any crackles on my audigy2 notebook audio card. perhaps its his system clipping? ---- -L ------------------------------------------- "How am I gonna get a scar like that eating pizza?" ~ Tony Montana's kid brother |

Found it by listening to each channel at 2.23...clean Diva channel but soft crackle on the AES return...meter on the KSP8 didn't show clipping, in fact -5dB, but was a dense compression/reverb patch which was running amber most of the time. Swapped out the patch for a warm plate which is working much better. Just goes to show not to rely totally on meters...thanks for that FrantzM. And good to see you again Layzer. Well, goodness, open and relaxed style, glad you think so, but mostly a making it up as I go along style for me I had kind of thought this would be the final version, but maybe not. One advantage of the improvisation style is doing another version isn't time consuming. |

I like the Rhodes in this a lot. And I almost hate to say it because it seems like I always say something like it when I comment on your stuff but this would go very well with deep sea film footage. Good sounds, good sound. I enjoyed it. Thanks. |

This is really lovely. Thanks for sharing. I do especially love the lead and it fits so well over the rest. |
