• Korg M1 - use the Korg M1 softsynth
• Nord Lead - Discovery Pro is a decent recreation
• Korg Wavestation - use the Wavestation softsynth
• Korg MS2000 - not sure there's a softsynth equivalent
• Korg Trinity - not sure there's a softsynth equivalent
• Ensoniq SD-1 - not sure there's a softsynth equivalent

I'll try and think of some more.

Define 90s sound. Aqua is 90s, so is Jodeci, Nirvana, The Progidy and Will Smith! HiHi

The synths mentioned should take you anywhere you want to go but, with all respect, I think questions like these are impossible to answer without some further explanation. That's why I usually do not reply to threads like these (oops, I just did! Laughing )

What others already said +1! I'd also add these, althouth produced before the 90s these were heard a lot in the 90s:

Yamaha TX81Z (FM bass)
Oberheim Matrix 12
And just for the record: Roland TB-303, TR-808, TR-909

If you follow the mentions in the bargains forum, you can wind up
with the entire Cakewalk synth/rompler, fx and daw collection for under $170.

I'm not much into any one brands collection being vastly superior to its
counterparts, but if you don't have a big collection of audio tools,
this IS one, and at a great price.
Cheers

Add to that, 90's music used synths made from day one....there is no typical 90''s sound
There are synths made in the 90's that have trademark sounds, maybe thats what he is after ?

I totally agree to the Wavestation.

Did someone mention the Roland JP-8000 yet?
Adam Szabo's JP-6K seems to be a nice emulation of that:
http://www.adamszabo.com/jp6k/

The Virus A was also published in the 90s:
http://www.vintagesynth.com/misc/virusa.php
Same about the Korg 01/W:
http://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/01w.php
Finally the E-Mu Proteus:
http://www.vintagesynth.com/emu/proteus.php

Difficult to find perfect emulations of those three but for the 01/W the M1 plugin should do it. For the first Virus version several VA plugins should do the trick, for the latest Virus TI it is more difficult.

Saurus is great. Xenos has a soundbank for Z3ta+ that has some very convincing sounds.

How could I forget Predator? I'll tell you how. Predator is such an innocent looking thing, but I'm convinced it can do so much. And it's older, so it doesn't get much attention. But if I need anything, it's usually the first thing I pull up.

Also Vanguard from ReFX has a nice 90's feel to it with the pre-sets.
