i dunno, it's a fine line who's right and wrong in this case but for the sake of 100 bucks which could have bought be audjoo helix dammit, i will just let it go. interestingly enough i reckon they will lose more money now by people not going for it. ---- Upping my count for Kingston |

i wonder if someone gets fired for this error ? i imagine they lost a few thousand euros over this emailing them to see if theyll sell you an upgrade for the glitch price is pretty cheeky though! Here's something to ponder...what's worse? changing a price mid-sale all secret like, or asking for the original sale price? dw |

welllll i think ableton are clearly in the right because those who ordered while the error was in place are having their orders honored. thats the right thing to do! probably the legal thing to do too
but their whole campaign was about 33% off for three days with lots of graphics indicating that so to me it seems clear their intent was 33% discounts so i figure its a bit churlish to be upset with them for rectifying the error once they caught on to it they had the same sale last year too 33% off for 3 days {if im not mistaken} no one is any worse off because of this, i guess whats eating some folks up is the knowledge that someone else got a significantly better deal! basic psychology innit! @ttoz ya you may be right hard to say either way though |

I want to make sure it's clear on my behalf--I am not complaining about the issue. I agree with you completely. It was obviously a mistake that they honored for the few who got it, and I am not eaten up by the fact that people got a better deal than me--I am quite happy for them. I am just disappointed, is all, as the correct price is not anything I am interested in. The lower price was about right for what I think the upgrade to Suite is worth, and I would have been happy to nab it at the price, but not so much at the higher price. Just bummed about a missed opportunity, but I don't feel like I have been wronged in any way, or feel like Ableton "owes" me the lower price. |

I agree.
I have always been a bit interested in Sampler, but not for the price they want. I saw it last night right before I went to bed, and I told myself that I'd get it in the morning... I'm just a little bummed that the deal is gone, if I knew it would change I would have snatched it right away What I really want is Live 9!!!! dw |

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I forgot about this thread and have been spending most of the evening looking at Reason Rack Extensions. I think I am going to buy Live tomorrow. |

I've been around the block with DAWs and I always come back to Live. It's effortlessly fun to work with. Simple but as complex as you need it to be. I absolutely love it.
I always laugh at the whole 32 bit thing. Yes, 64-bit is good for plug-ins that use lots of huge memory intensive samples and such but for the vast majority of softsynths, it makes no difference what-so-ever. 64-bit isn't going to make your softsynth sound any better. At version 8, Live is nothing short of a masterpiece. It's mature, gets updated regularly and just works great. I'm looking forward to Live 9 but 8 does everything I want it to and more. Infact I still barely use it to its full potential. Get 8, be happy, have some fun and go and write some music. 64-bit isn't going to improve your songwriting, production or mixing skills. 'Live for now' is a nice way to think of it |

So I bought Live today and I really really like it. I am happy with my new purchase. It took me a minute to get sampletank working right but now that it is no real complaints here. And I agree about the 32 and 64 bit thing. After using both its not a major deal when it comes to soft synths especially because most plug ins are still 32 bit anyway. |

I got the glitched price early , Live lite 8 soundcloud to Suite 8 for $259 . lovin operator and analog presets n stuff . I really dont care when Live 9 gets released or about the whole 32 /64 issue , this was a really good deal . |

I asked the same question two years ago. Live 9 was coming soon then too. Ableton have never mentioned any features of live 9 or any dates.
If you read all the ableton Live 9 forum topics on the internet you will find out that Live 9 could be here in two months - 12 years. No word from Ableton on this. If you start getting out of memory crashes at 3.2 GB. Demo Jbridge it is a work around Lives 32bit memory limitation, you need a 64bit OS. When I found out about Jbridge in these forums that sort of turned Live 8 into Live 9 for me. It's a bit buggy using Jbridge but it gives me the freedom of lots of RAM. |
