Screen management completely broken???

So I like the idea of RapidComposer, and downloaded the demo. Was starting to try to figure it out, with the app screen on one monitor, and the manual on the other monitor, so I could read along as I tried things. So far so good. Then I changed something, don't remember what, and the app screen spilled into the second monitor. Not polite, but okay. I went to grab the app screen edge to make it smaller so that it fit on one monitor again, and it wouldn't go that far. Then I figured I would just maximize the screen, which would fill one monitor and leave the second for the manual. Nope, maximizing fills all monitors with the application.

This is basically broken behavior. It's not honoring the settings for applications spanning monitors (or not spanning in my case). An app should never decide on it's own, dynamically, the minimum size it will run and not let you reduce it back to fit.

Is this a known problem, with an expected fix? I was really interested in the product, but, especially for a product that's going to have a learning curve, this would keep me from buying.

Hello,

I would not say that the screen management is broken. RapidComposer has a custom UI engine which supports dynamic layout, font sensitivity and features like changing UI colors and button themes real-time as you move the slider.
For v2.0 our UI will be lightyears ahead compared to what Windows or OS X offers today.

You did not mention your primary screen resolution which I assume is quite low. It is a known issue that the current version of RapidComposer requires lots of screenspace. This is why there is a recommendation (1600 pixels or higher is recommended) on our web page. Note that this will change for v2.0 as the UI is redesigned and less space is required.

The problem is if all the UI elements have the minimum size, the window cannot be resized smaller for obvious reasons. As I mentioned there will be a fix, but only for v2.0.

Thanks,
Attila

My primary monitor is 1680x1050. If that's not more than enough, then the app has a significant workflow/UI design problem.

The window manager has been configured by the user (me) so that apps that are maximized are maximized only to one monitor. If the user (me, again) wanted a different behavior, they would have configured the window manager differently. An app that ignores that setting is broken.
