Just got my email promoting the "Time-limited special upgrade offer", but when I contacted Steinberg Canada, the guy there said he "might know in about a week" what the prices are. Thanks. Does anyone in other regions have any info on what to expect? ---- ![]() |

Yeah, that's the link I got in the email, with no prices listed, thanks. ---- ![]() |

I'm seeing $99 for Artist and $299 for Cubase full on that page. I guess those must not be the "special" prices then?
Is this (below @ $299) less than the normal upgrade price? If so, that's the special. Quote: Cubase 6.5 Upgrade from Cubase Essential 4/5, Cubase Elements 6, Sequel 3, Sequel 2, Cubase SL 1/2/3, Cubase SX 1/2/3, Cubase SE 3, Studio Case 2, Cubase LE4/5/6, Cubase AI 4/5/6 Last edited by LawrenceF on Tue Jul 03, 2012 8:16 am; edited 1 time in total |

Getting Cubase 6.5 for $299 from Sequel in particular seems like an exceptional deal. Last edited by LawrenceF on Tue Jul 03, 2012 8:19 am; edited 1 time in total |

I see no prices of any sort, sorry. Only a "Buy these upgrades at a local Steinberg dealer near you." link, and the bottom of the page has more info on 6.5.
$199 is the standard upgrade price from 4/5 here. I guess I just have to check with local dealers, or keep an eye on Sweetwater (good idea). Kind of annoying to announce a "time-limited" global sale, then leave people hanging. ---- ![]() |

I don't think the special is for current full Cubase users, but only for the versions listed in my quote above, to get Cubase from the lesser versions like Sequel, LE, etc.
Looks that way to me anyway. The full Cubase isn't listed there anywhere that I can see. Quote: Until August 31, 2012, Steinberg offers Cubase LE 4/5/6 and Cubase AI 4/5/6 users as well as all Cubase SX/SL 1/2/3, Sequel 2/3, Cubase Essential 4/5 and Cubase Elements 6 customers value-packed upgrades to Cubase 6.5 and Cubase Artist 6.5,
So, maybe... "no soup for you"... this time around, if you already own the full Cubase. Last edited by LawrenceF on Tue Jul 03, 2012 8:23 am; edited 1 time in total |

I ordered the upgrade to 6.5 from Studio 5 just last Saturday, picked it up today, (installing it as I type). So when I saw the mail this morning I was about to blow a fuse until I realised Studio 5 wasnt included in the offer. |

I think the general feeling is probably that people using Cuabse or Studio are more likely to eventually upgrade anyway. They're probably trying to get the others to jump over the version fence before they buy something else, build the collective. Not a bad strategy. They're trying to get the others to jump over the version fence. Not a bad strategy. Yeah, not a bad idea. They gotta try to retain customers with such heavy competition. ---- ![]() |

Yeah. With such a really sucky economy a first $3-400 DAW for many may be their very last one for a long awhile.
DAW whores with decent mad cash budgets excluded. These companies are the electeonic version of crack dealers. Last edited by LawrenceF on Tue Jul 03, 2012 9:43 am; edited 1 time in total |
