Looks like it went up briefly and then was taken down.... It was coming as the last update was appended _32 (yiou only do that if you also have a _64 coming!) Seems like it will be out today or tommorow....but obviusly no 64 bit M4L (as cycling/Max not 64 bit...) Good news I think, Live is Alive and kicking....and a free update again.... |

Fingers crossed that this is really happening. Been waiting for it for a long time now.
Edit: and here it is: http://www.ableton.com/live-8-beta "8.4b1 Release Notes Improvements and feature changes: Live 8.4b1 introduces native 64-bit support. The 64-bit version of Live allows the use of more than 4 gigabytes of RAM. This means that Live users can now work with Live Sets (including Sets using third-party plug-ins and ReWire configurations) that are much larger and more memory intensive than in the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version of Live works with PCs running Windows Vista/7/8 (64-bit) and with Intel-Macs running OS X 10.5 and up. The 64-bit version of Live 8 does not yet support Max for Live, video, or The Bridge. We are currently working with our partners to add support for these features." If you are running the 64 bit version. what would you need The Bridge for? 32 bit plugs? |

The Ableton Bridge in this case refers to the serato integration tool: http://www.ableton.com/thebridge Very cool actually. ---- This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit. Once I have something clever, I will certainly fill it in. |

OMG.......I have just downloaded the Live 8.4b & thrown some weighty plug-ins at it (SSD drums, Superior Drummer & a couple of bass & acoustic guitars from Omnisphere)......& I could not believe my eyes as my MAC Activity Monitor showed my RAM usage at 4.50 GB during playback....with no issues! There is a God after all.......well a God particle at any rate....
Off for a lay down in a darkened room.....as I never thought this day would ever arrive. |

And unlike most other developers, who have made it a headline feature in a paid update.... Ableton are giving this for FREE. |

Does this include 64-bit Rewire slave support as well? It mentions using it as a host in 64-bit, but not as slave.
I guess I'll have to test later and see! Brent |
