I watched the entire video of "ERM" and "DUNNO what this does" so can someone tell me what to do. Its simple...Format your external hard drive first and then i will tell you where to put the samples you have collected. |

So what is the story with this guy? what is the point? Help with what? Yes, I had to see what the point was. I believe in giving a person the right of free speech so I patiently listened to him show me all of the stuff he'd bought and the gigabytes of samples he never uses. I think its nothing more than just showing off because the questions are a bit suss if you know what I mean. Either the kids thick as shit or he really does need some help in which case Id tell him to sell 3/4 of the stuff he has bought and get a life. |

Ok, Im in.
I watched the first ten minutes and it blew my fukking mind. Listen to fukking 4:50-5:10. The whole thing is just that, over and over. If you have kids like this, kill them before I run into them. 10:00-10:30 Will transcribe Tired Ryan wrote: "Do you know what its like to go in here and have to click on a folder and pull out a kick everytime you want to use a kick? Its just not happening, and Im getting really tired of it."
Around 15:00 he says basically the same thing while trawling through another pile of samples... He seems overwhelmed, before having any clue at all. Like, how does he even know enough to know anything is wrong? Shouldnt he still be in the 'excited learner' phase and just clicking around and making a track a day...? And I feel bad because he must be a little autistic. He does not sound stupid. He does not sound like a troll. He sounds... confused. Id actually feel much better if it were all warez. Someone paid for that shit. These kind of vids make me real scared to get old. |

That's what I was thinking, and then he showed us the pdf version of a book that I'm pretty sure has no pdf version on the market. Maybe I'm wrong, but it smells funny to me. Royaldeadman, you do seem confused, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that everything you have is legal. Here are some things to do: - You may want a program that organizes your billions of unused samples. http://www.creativenetworkdesign.com/Main-Pages/NetMix-Pro.h tml costs money, but that's obviously no barrier for you. - Sign up for groove3.com and watch the lessons for everything you have. - For everything else, read the manual. - Make some f#$%ing music, man! You already have more than anyone needs, and certainly more than a beginner does. |

Wow, the first beginner that has to go back to basics. Just use your Maschine, and one synth (Massive for instance). Make a song and see what you run in to. Learn those two things. Then take it from there.
It's much more about being inspired than being messing around with way too much stuff. |

Hey guys i am for real confused. No troll, and don't mean to be if I am. I do promise I own all that gear 100& and no I'm by far not done buying stuff.
Actually I'm interested in buying some 8dio stuff if they're good at all. I have a month for groove 3 and am watching little by little. I find studio one 2 to be a bit confusing. Still trying to properly intall wusik. I extracted all the sounds I think and now have the station installed but don't see many sounds in the bank. For realz tho, no joke, I want everything, I don't pirate at all, thats sleezy. I just get excited of buying all this software, its a turn on no joke. Man I cant even begin to tell you what it feels like to have as much software as I have and feel so overwhelmed. Just bought damage and installed it and havent even touched it. |

Some tips and comments that will help you. This first one is quite important:
Stop buying stuff until you know how to use what you have. You might have all the money in the world, but there is no point wasting it on stuff you don't know how to use. Also, by the time you learn how to use it properly there might be something better to spend your money on. Know that it is possible to write an amazing song with just a single synth - kick drums, hi-hats, bass line, lead, intro, chorus. Everything with just one synth. Once you've done this you can sit back and say: That sounded OK and I learned how to use my virtual studio but what is missing from my sound that would make it better? You then take a look at your amazing collection of gear and select a new instrument to play with - one that matches the need determined from writing your first track. Repeat until you are more familiar with your set up. As for "what does it all do" and getting help from us: Read the manual and work it out for yourself or Work on it, find you are stuck with something specific and post a question explaining why you are stuck, and what you need help with. Do not post a video of the problem - it's just slow and annoying to sit through, it does not demonstrate what you already know to us, and we don't know what is going on in your head while you made the video. You will undoubtedly miss out some crucial information that is causing the problem in the first place. Tutorials It would make more sense in your situation to go to a site like Groove 3 and pay to watch some tutorials specific to your host and the tools you have: http://www.groove3.com/str/ That's just one example, there are many other tutorial sites around. Mac Pro Video is another good one. Another solution is to search Youtube for free tutorials to learn the basics - there are lots of great videos and they're easy to find. Peace, Andy. |
