FreqEcho is awesome exactly as it is now imo. A few new delay times, the new look and etc. can't hurt and improve the plugin without breaking its simplicity. A true stereo mode would be nice too but it isn't really necessary. Stuff like the envelope follower, LFOs etc. would probably be a better idea for some kind of FreqEcho Pro plugin or something like that The only thing I'd like to see in FreqEcho would be a dark and a bright mode. I don't even know what they should do but all your other plugins have them and they should become some kind of ValhallaDSP trademark Edit: Maybe the dark/bright mode could lower the sample rate like the speed switch in ÜberMod? I guess that would sound pretty awesome in combination with the freq shifting. This is not a feature request or something! Just thinking out loud here Cheers Dennis ---- Back from the dead - Sorry if I didn't answer your mails/PM/whatever during the last few months. I hope everything will be back to normal soon. Life can take some shitty turns sometimes. |

Sean Costello This. I really like sensibly priced, simple, but high quality plugins. They force you to be creative within their boundaries. Much like synths from past times, which were limited, but had nice little quirks. Alpha Juno for example, those odd waveforms and that one multistage envelope. Really dig that thing. |

I really love the sound because nothing else does what it does and its given my pads and ambience a whole new depth of sound quality, really oozes the atmosphere from the reverbs of the 80's and 90's.BUT, compared to valhalla room its a bit skimping on Presets and algorithms. Is ValhallaShimmer LACKING anything that it needs? ValhallaRoom has a whole bunch of algorithms in it, because I wasn't satisfied with the original algorithms it shipped with. ValhallaShimmer, in my opinion, had a good set of algorithms straight out of the gate. Shimmer is simpler than Room, is more focused towards the psychedelic, and it gets the job done. Adding a bunch of algorithms to Shimmer would just be adding a bunch of distractions. The updates I have been adding to ValhallaFreqEcho have allowed me to get reacquainted with that plugin. I really like the simplicity of FreqEcho, as you can get a LOT of sounds out of that single algorithm and 6 knobs. Sean Costello Me want option of a plate so I can use it on drums too, or something similar to what you did with Eos so we can have the best of both worlds and use it for drums and stuff.Sure its excellent, but there is nothing wrong with trying and really like it even more then. But ultimately its your call, its just that you kept adding and adding algorithms to valhallaroom that it leaves us shimmerverb fans felling a bit left out |

I guess that would sound pretty awesome in combination with the freq shifting. This is not a feature request or something! Just thinking out loud here FreqEcho is slightly dark-ish. It uses linear interpolation for the delay, which has some high frequency attenuation. Not nearly as much as a BBD, but a touch. In addition, things roll off above 10 KHz (or 15 KHz for the revised version), as the Hilbert network I use gets inaccurate above 15 KHz. Lowering the sampling rate would put the Hilbert-related artifacts into the high midrange area, as opposed to dolphin frequencies. This would probably sound bad. Not good-bad, just bad. The 2nd post in the thread came up with the winning solution: add the new sync times, but with a different plugin ID so the new version can exist alongside the older version. This allows older projects to keep working as before, and allows me to add new sync times and fix a few other issues that have been bugging me for the past 2.5 years. Just make the new version have a new name in the VST folder so people can have both the old and new version installed at the same time. Then everyone is happy. I voted to add the new sync options and would still prefer that version even if I could no longer use the older version ---- Play it by ear |

No reason to make an AU version either, bitwig can't use it (I promise I took my medications today......scouts honor!) |
