Hi

it's as if you either know what u r doing or don't!

I have some big fish dvd libraries i bought over the years and these are all without exception sliced beautifully.. so i guess BFA is one that is on top of their game.

SO many of my other cheaper libraries have pops and clicks in the rex.. like no care was taken at all..

i never needed to CHECK the rex files before i started using reason as i always used appleloops.

So.. any other recommendations of QUALITY REX files? All genres from film, ambient through pop, dance and metal please Smile

cheers!!

As far as I know it's not possible to have perfect slice with all the loops because sometimes there isn't any 0db point between the hits/notes. It's often the case with stereo loops & musical phrases where the notes have long releases. To get rid of any clicking sounds in a REX files you just have to play with the ADSR of each slices. It's easily done with the Fruity Slicer & SliceX, so I guess it's possible with Dr.Rex...

ok interesting tip and fades of course i will check it out. but when i say bad i don't mean a pop here or there, i mean like some of them have a constant bubbling sounds and clicks everywhere where the wav or aif is flawless.

"usually sliced terribly" is a little exaggerated imo Wink ,
but there are indeed differences - it's a matter how much work someone involves into creating REX files.

Some Libs I bought in the past, which I use mainly in StylusRMX (or as REX files in Cubase) include Nine Volt Audio (as already mentioned), Galbanum,
Sonic Couture's Tremors, Samle Magic, some free stuff from equinox,
some free stuff from rhythm-lab (lots of it...), Skippys BeatTropolis
(pluginguru.com), Zero-G (Total REX in my case) and Wave Alchemy.

Well, bought TotalRex also at a discount - maybe some sounds a little dated and in regards to quality maybe a little mixed, but as it's so much material,
there was enough stuff included I could find a use for at a reasonable price.
Just like'd to add this remark...

Cheers

p.s not being harsh but genuinely honest when i said terribly... about 50% of what i have i consider unusable as far as fidelity is concerned. Hope you can at least accept my opinion as of course i accept yours and very much appreciate the tips Thumbs Up!

ttoz, I know you weren't hyped on the Perimeter loops because they weren't all 100% clean, but did you grab the Rex ones, or a different format ? If you didn't get any Rex ones, let me at least shoot you a collection (that I personally Rex'd) for free. Pm or email me your choice and I'll get you a link. Smile
