Four times greater resolution for faster and better correction

IK in collaboration with Audyssey® are please to announced the new update for ARC - Advanced Room Correction System. ARC is the first acoustic correction system that combines a measurement microphone, measurement software AND a correction plug-in for most popular DAWs to improve the acoustics and sonic reliability of your studio.

How does ARC improve your listening environment?

ARC works by measuring your room using the included measurement microphone and measurement software and then generates an algorithm to provide a correction of your room's acoustic problems that you can apply to your mix using the included plug-in. You can record and mix with confidence knowing that what you hear from your speakers is a faithful representation of how your music will translate to the outside world.

What's new

  • Completely redesigned interface for improved usability
  • 4X greater resolution improves critical low-end response
  • Smoother, more natural sound in the mid-range and high frequencies
  • New combined L/R correction option maintains focus in perfectly symmetrical control rooms
  • New customizable target curves now can match engineers' personal timbre tastes
  • New "Alt References" templates mimic the sound of consumer listening devices like car systems, speaker boxes, etc. allowing the engineer to test how mixes translate on different systems
  • New Monitor Control panel interface streamlines workflow
  • Fewer measurements now provide higher quality results and shortens set-up time
  • Measurements can be saved and used for multiple correction set-ups

The technology behind ARC

With thousands of installations since 2007, the first version of ARC has been put to use in every possible real-world situation. This experience, along with user feedback from all over the world, has been carefully considered during the Audyssey® update of the MultEQ® technology that powered the first version of ARC to now provide a new, even more accurate version, MultEQ® XT32, included in this new version of ARC.

Pricing and Availability

ARC 2 is now shipping from IK's Online Store and its network of professional music resellers worldwide at a price of $299.99/€249,99 (exc. taxes).

User of the previous version of ARC can update to the new software online in the IK store at a special limited price of only $99.99/€84,99 (exc. taxes) good until August 31, 2012, after that the price will go up to $149.99/€124,99 (exc. taxes).

Audyssey®, Audyssey MultEQ® XT 32 are registered trademarks property of Audyssey Laboratories™ Inc. used under license.

Hmm, you haven't solved how someone could actually demo it Help HiHi

Is it possible to use ARC2 for fake rooms/studios via headphones?

Thanks for NOT keeping us updated (as constantly bragged and promised).

Thanks for the interested Beta Testes to NOT inform them or hook them up.

And thanks for the constant audacity of "deals" ("jump on it now! it's time limited!"). Especially if the "upgrade" doesn't incorporate a new microphone but just a download (plus 20% VAT of course, or is it 25% now? I lost track with IKM).

Still no 5.1, apparently still no demo, still no headphone mode, still no resize, still no "auto off on render" - how old is ARC now? But hey(!), the IKM representatives do their job perfectly CONSTANTLY PIMPING their stuff in threads where it's not even needed, stating that they are the best and the only firm you should go for. Good job!

Is Peter in charge of you lot now? If so, I think there's a PM coming up.

And do I look like I'm pissed right now?
Could be, dunno... might be due to the 32degrees celsius outside. So my temper could be shorter than usual.

And now for the important question.
Does it bypass when rendering or bouncing tracks?

there i fixed that for you Wink

edit: if IK's developer team still finds this feature to be "difficult to implement" in one plugin, the perhaps they could consider simply providing us with two dll files, two versions of the plugin: one with and one without the capability to render?

cheers

Am I the only one who feels the price of the update to be a bit on the steep side?

Although I dig my ARC 1, and it definitely helps my mixes, I will wait with updating until reports from the early adopters/test bunnies.

Glad it's still under development though!

I hope IK gets this message, last year I came under fire for noting this and the tag teaming the three IK reps use. In the last year I have seen plenty of complaints about the same thing. here's what gets me, last week one of the three showed how little they listen or actually read posts and understand the content when he invited me to try AT. I can understand missing this with some people but me? I repeat things too often as it is (but this does show why I feel I have to) and it really surprised me. Mind you it surprised me but it did not offend me, but I did find the tag team tactics to be offensive in nature last year and I made it clear on more than one occasion that I did.

There is a fine line between pushing your product and shoving it down people's throats, why does there need to be three? I think IK should be careful when when they see threads talking about another company's product in the thread title. Again there is a fine line there and the fact is I and many other members have been criticized for talking about other company's prducts in IK threads which such a double standard may not be in IK's best interest.

What is interesting is that some of IK's best supporters in the past have been more critical of IK in the last year. IK, this is just my opinion but I think this marketing tactic is close to backfiring on you...some might feel as if you are spamming. Perhaps some fine tuning in defining your boundaries might be in order.

Shrug

Further to Hink: If anybody buys any IK product at normal RRP they are an idiot.

Great! I have JP that I can only blow on AT3!

Even more reason to be pissed as early adopter. "Here! Take my money and run! I don't expect support from you anyway."

You beat me to it!!!!!

I was mighty MIFFED to see that Jam Points can't be used for the upgrade. Why the hell not? I have bought alot of IK Multimedia products, amassed 41 Euros of Jam Points that have just sat there so I thought OK I don't particularly need to upgrade, as ARC version 1 seems to work just dandy for me thank you very much but I might as well redeem my Jam Points........but no! Can't use them for the upgrade!!! So I thought oh OK thanks a bunch.....

@Hink:

I contacted Peter from IKM on this behalf already. Let's see what the supposed "head honcho" has to say. One thing is for certain - both Brian and ObiK took it a bit far lately. I mean, it was even adressed in the "spam" section, yet nothing happened (as with a certain firm with a capital C in the name).

Yet the people critisizing get temp bans for childish behavior?
Beats me, way over my head. Seriously.
