I understand that Windows 8 will launch in late October?
How is that going to affect current plugins and DAW's? Will it be an easy transition from Win 7 to 8 ? |

I've tested Camel Audio plugins using a Windows 8 preview release. Ignoring the "Metro" interface and using the regular desktop - no difference as far as I can tell.
There may be subtle changes that I did not find, but Cubase + Savihost seemed to run like normal. Peace, Andy. |

Yeah, I would stick with Win 7 for now. No point pushing the envelope if it breaks your workflow! Peace, Andy. |

I've got a couple of computers, and would like to stick with XP as long as possible.
There is a couple of plugs that have not made the journey over from XP to Win 7, like Arturia's Storm. Psycle have moved to Win 7, but I haven't got that to work well, so I'm still sticking to that on XP. Last edited by Numanoid on Fri Aug 03, 2012 4:44 am; edited 1 time in total |

But I guess windows8 will become the choice for musicans in the future. In windows you get 80% more instruments and software than in osx, and with higher performance and freedom. Besides, windows tablet will run windows8, not a phone os like ipads and androids. |

Yeah, that can be the silver lining, the possibility to run current plugs and daws on windows tablets? |

They'll all blow up. No seriously, tell me who's daft enough to transit a working system to a new OS just because a new OS comes out. So we can all slap the daft out of them. |
