not going to read 7 pages but going on the topic title.. no.. it sounds like it did when it was first released, so if you liked it then there is no reason not to like it now.. isn't it that simple?

Always had a soft spot for metal and svx here.

AmpliTube Metal automatically unlocks its gear inside AmpliTube 3 Custom Shop. All of these models are currently found in AmpliTube 3. I think AmpliTube Metal is worth it for the stomps alone. They sound just as true to the original pedals now as they always have. If you can't decide between a Boss or MXR flanger, pick up AmpliTube Metal and find out which one fits your style better.

BTW, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix is now on sale in the final wave of our Summer Strummer promo. Lots of great gear in there, like a model of a Uni-Vibe, Plexi, and an original Thomas Organ Vox wah.

Yes, BERFAB, that harks back to the days where we didn't have all this available and we HAD to do what we could to get the sounds as close as we could. This was definitely an issue during my cover band days especially when I was starting out (back in the day, as they say). When I made a major upgrade like I did to my first Marshall JCM800 it was of course to a pretty specific sound due to the gear lacking the cornucopia of gizmos and whatsits - but that was fine by me.

I like having the variety at my fingertips so I can focus on crafting sound for a project or song or what have you, as the days of replicating THAT tone for THAT cover tune are over for me. No remorse there, just glee at the tools available now. Things that are a bit more unique like the Soldano or Orange models really appeal to me. That's why I get excited about some of the more oddball items like the one in our amp room that is on the table for modeling in an upcoming update, and some more boutique items we've currently got on the medium/long term roadmap (note that all is subject to change of course) .

As far as what you can do with the existing models, that's a fair assessment - I know Brian had really done some nice Slash presets before we even started talking with Slash. He was happy to update them when the actual gear came to fruition, though, as he was really wanting to chase and nail that tone. He's done some good EVH work but as of yet we haven't replaced the models he uses with the licensed deal yet. One can only hope there (if that's your cup of tea)...

I WANT and YOU WANT satan its very self. That would be totally killer and it out metals anything. Still until then would be good with yourself being the orange pusher getting in a Dark Terror and a #4 as well as them both being just really decent amp heads in thier own right, Of which Im sure that anyone would agree that they are obviously very much orange but OTOT with more of a twist Cool

Anyway I won't harp on about what I want to see/hear/use as I have a pretty long list Peter mate

One thing I have mentioned only once and only a really little bit on the GAM forum and not here yet is this one, It is by far in my books a huge break through and I really hope that it and/or other models are further improved upon after the first hurdle is now clear. It may well be trivial to alot of people but a huge deal breaker for me personally. It is how the modeled/based stompbox of the MXR Smart Gate/Gate + from the Slash gear set is honestly the first gate built-in to any/all of the plug-ins which I have tried that actually works and works well. I really do have to give credit where credit is due as it is by far the biggest fail in any/all amp sim plug-ins...However now with the simply titled 'Gate' on the scene I can no longer say that there is not a useful noise gate/suppressor available ITB that works.

It is not my trusty Boss NS-2 but by heck it is a really good start Thumbs Up!
With all my open honesty/heart on sleve-ness well played to all at IK for this

Cheers Smile

Dean, you scare me sometimes with the uncannily similar taste in gear when I'm more in my "dark" state of mind. Yes, I want that Randall Satan - since I first heard Ola demo it. I think the real version and an iso cab (sadly not likely theirs, they seem to be outdone by others more recently in that area) may be in my future. The Dark Terror and #4 are definitely models I've pushed into the suggestion box multiple times too though it might make more sense to stick with Mr Root's main larger amp. One can enjoy variety in these cases, however, as with the Soldano and Jet City versions of essentially the same amp so there's no telling what we'll do in those cases.

And yes, the NS-2 is great in my book as well. I've got two, and I wouldn't mind having more. For my regular setup I run two amps and three smaller pedalboards (one for each amp and one for both/main type of stuff) and have a ton of other weird and noisy character-filled nonsense amps laying about that are fun to use... not to mention old noisy keyboards and such. But I really think we nailed it with the Slash Gate like you say too.
