I've decided to take advantage of the current special offer and buy Metasynth. But I'm considering getting the related programs XX and Artmatic too. I'd love to hear from experienced Metasynth users how much value you think these other programs add to the core application? I'm not really interested in the graphical aspects of Artmatic per se. I would only be using it to create input for Metasynth. |

I own MetaSynth and ArtMatic and they are great applications: well worth taking advantage of the offer if you want them.
To your point, I've done some experiments with taking stuff from one to the other and I've had some interesting results but nothing worth writing home about yet. And I guess this is the point I'd make: both applications are deep enough to warrant years of effort learning. Although ArtMatic is straightforward to play around with learning how to do things deliberately is a real challenge. If you weren't interested in ArtMatic for it's own sake I think it would be quite an ask to learn it. Have you played with the ArtMatic demo and gone over the tutorial? Kind regards, Matt |

No I haven't. I was on the verge of buying Metasynth when I saw the other package options. I don't really have time to explore something too in-depth at the moment. Based on what you say, I should probably limit myself to Metasynth and maybe XX. |
