I sent a email to NI asking to un register my serial as soon as I saw this. I'm putting Maschine up on Craigslist tomorrow. Can't wait for MKII! |

There's some speculation that NI may offer some sort of upgrade for Maschine MkI owners, so I'm holding off to see: (1) if that's true, and (2) how well the v1.8 features work with my MkI hardware. I do like the idea of the color pads (for function, not so much for aesthetics), and the new screens look much better than the MkI screens. The feature I'm most excited about is the ability to control my DAWs' transport from Maschine - regardless, I'm assuming (hoping) that this v1.8 feature will work with my MkI controller. |

Upcoming 1.8 update for CURRENT maschine users:
Quote: Offline time stretching and pitch shifting feature
Transient Master Tape and Tube Saturators Save group with samples feature Improved handling of missing samples Revised select page (hardware) with access to note length Quick select events of a sound in a pattern (Shift + Select + Pad) Quick erase events of a sound in a pattern (Erase + Select + Pad) Pre-hear samples from the hardware browser before loading them Choke all playing sampler voices feature ("panic button": Shift + Mute) Sample play position indicator on the waveform (hardware and software) AutoWrite pinning feature AutoWrite on Maschine Mikro Host Transport Control* Various bug fixes Now forgive me, but isn't this a little like the GC description for what is new in maschine? TBH, the only thing I care about is multiprocessor support and I don't see that anywhere. |

Host transport control is what I want.
I'm guessing multi processor support won't come until v2.0 |

MOST ........ NEEDED ............ FEATURE!
Anyways, don't care since I've got a nice controller....... Maschine currently does exactly what I want it to, except that it can crap out being pushed. (oh........that's where the multiprocessor support comes in |

On the whole, I'd be happy with the 1.8 upgrade, and host transport control would be neat. Not bothered about the new controller - the coloured pads might come in handy for FL Studio's new Performance Mode but not much else for me. I know everyone cries about timestretching but I can't remember ever using, let alone needing it for anything I do. Already have Massive and Transient Master. |

Yes, already have massive, don't care terribly about TS (though with some things it would be somewhat handy)
The transport control thingy ONLY is appealing if: -the damn thing works in reaper now -multi outs are easier to use inside a host. If not, it's just a meh JUST to be able to use the transport. I mean, it's not bad but ffs, sonar and reaper were just TERRIBLE integration currently. |

I can't really see them doing that on the hardware though. I don't recall them doing any upgrade offers for their hardware before apart from the Kore to Maschine offer, although there was a specific reason (Kore's end of life) for that. The multicolour pads on the MKII make it look like a bit of a toy now. |
