This one I am particuarly happy with.

Featuring the extremely talented Jeanette on vocals

Ghost Town

verse 1

the cave men are escaping from the ratholes

the sun is down on this desolated town

through the mist the lights shine down on no one

as the storm pours violently down

verse 2

ghouls crawl along the long forsaken beach front

on point road merrow perform her rite

a patron talks to griselda 'bout a quick one

then sped off into the misty night

chorus

free me from this coast town

where the gloom will drive me insane

save me from this ghost town

free me from this strangeling chain

verse 3

a beast in rags is begging on the beach front

for a desperate grit a scrap of food is fine

he will sweat for bread or drinking water

in the blight of fear lilith resigned

verse 4

in the dark i can hear the demons talking

with a tongue of people gone and dead

the smell of dread and loneliness overwelming

as pictures of my death flash through my head

(repeat chorus)

verse 5

taking refuge in a corner on a bar stool

watching samara playing the bass guitar

a barrel of rum was all i needed

to fall in love with little evil's charm

(sax solo)

bridge 1

this is not a nightmare the truth bares down on me

this is what real life has come to be

how is it that i could not forsee

how did i become a dead machine

will my future be drowned in sadness

do i still have a say in this afair

in this life of endless madness

i have to escape this nightmare

(repeat chorus)

bridge 2

there were many through this before me

many martyrs survived this ordeal

all to scared to cross the red sea

while the kings will have their meal

(repeat chorus)

verse 6

at break of dawn the skies are dull and cloudy

slaves face the puke for one more day

a day in hell would be a mercy

as i send little evil on her way

Hi Remco!

Thanks for dropping in. Those lyrics are mine. Kinda true story. Those wonderful times I was working in a town 600 miles away and living in the Hilton Rathole.

Jeanette has such a beautiful voice and emotional style. Love her to bits.

Thanks

Shocked Love

What a powerhouse of a song.

You've really surpassed yourself with this one, Eric.
Lyrics, instrumentation, vocals, production ... all top shelf.

I stand in awe Love

Great indie pop song! It has some kind of South African winter mood... Cool

I wish you a nice spring whilst I'm going through the autumn (in Germany)... Wink

Great track. Very nice instrumentation and vocal. This took me back to those early Dire Straits albums. I listened twice. It was even better second time through.

Good work Smile

Thanks for listening and commenting everybody!

I am delighted that you all enjoyed it. I am starting to like this songwriting thing. There are so many ways to express oneself. Yup, this is something of a South African hing. Our summer is just dtarting to get really nice and warm. I would love to put up some more stuff but I am writing a bit slow however. I want to collaborate some more later this month.
