I'm searching for a vst host that I can also load up inside my daw (studio one) with the only purpose of loading other instruments and efx in it,being able to stack and layer them, due to Presonus still not adding multi track preset support.( OMG this is getting quite old already! ) Sorry lol

Either way I don't need a host that does rewire, or a bunch of modular stuff, the lower the cpu footprint the better. It just needs to be good at what it does, multi core support is a major plus,x64 please..

$ ready, thanks if you can suggest, fwiw I've tried chainer, and it seemed very cpu intensive at the time I tried it, can't remember what version.

If I recall properly, once you open Reaper as a reewire slave, you have to go set the VST path and rescan. So even if you have it set up as stand alone, it doesn't remember these settings when in rewire slave mode, so you can set the slave environment up specifically and not change the normal DAW preferences. reaper works really well in this rôle.
