It is with a broken heart that I inform you that at just after 2pm yesterday afternoon, Reason Lahalla lost a long battle with his health but is now finally at peace for once. He had been in the hospital for some time now and was expecting to come home soon, but there were ultimately other plans in store for him that we did not expect, nor were we prepared for. He was 33 years old but had been struggling for years with drug and alcohol addition, which significantly damaged his health. Please pray for our family during this time as we try to figure out how to move on.
In honor of Reason I have decided to allow his sound library "Metal and Motion" to be downloaded by all for free. His original purpose in this endeavor was to provide the world with cool music products, and that is what I will do here. This is bad news indeed. He was an excellent and very friendly chap. He'll surely be missed.
Not disrespecting or anything, but what happens to TeamDNR now, and especially the unfinished code for certain plugins? |

Agreed. Like I said, he will be missed, and I hope this ideas (concepts/low price models/customer support) will live on. No matter wich developer. Condolences - 33 years sure is young. |

I read about people having their problems with him, and especially his addiction making problems for the company.
But in the few eMails we exchanged over the years he was always very nice and friendly. I actually bought u-he ACE off him here in November, and without my asking or anything he included a bunch of presets just like that. So no matter how others may have encountered him, he was always very kind to me, and I'm very, very sorry to read this message. Though I have had no close or frequent contact with him and I've not had any insight on his personal life or "true personality", I still wish to express my sincere condolences. 33 is far too young. ---- TINY METAL IMPACT - UPDATE Mar 1st '13 - available for Kontakt 4.2+ I guess one could call lead poisoning an ironic death. |

Steven I have just heard about this. I'm very sorry for your loss Steven. Reason was a top bloke as we say here in the UK. He was not only a very very friendly and helpful guy but a very talented one too. This reflected in his work both as a sound designer and developer. I hope you carry on with TeamDNR when you feel better to do so and keep his good name alive. I always had time for this great person since back in 2009 when we first met. A sad loss indeed i wish you and your family well at this sad time. Will miss you Reason. Rob Lee |
