There seems to be a wealth of features on this delay unit but can it pull off a convincing Roland Space Echo sound?

Hi,

That is long time ago that I worded with Roland Space Echo.
RP-Delay has 'tape delay' and filters on board.
Filters to make the sound a bit more 'muddy'

You only need delay 1a and in tape mode as starting point.
Set 'equal' off to be able to use cross feedback.

First preset in introduction bank would be a starting point.
Of course...the tape noise is hard to 'add' using RP-Delay Smile

Cheers Rob. Playing around with the filters can achieve a similar effect but like you say, some vintage tape noise and a touch of reverb is also needed.

Soo long ago that I can recall the reverb... I guess it has spring reverb inside of it?

Don't think that RP-Delay will be able to generate the typical sound. Embarassed
But it can do quite some nice other things Very Happy

If I were so bold to venture—RP-Verb comes with RP-Delay, with has some lovely vintage models. No spring verbs unfortunately, but were you to string the two effects together, you can still create some wonderful sounds.
