I liked it. Production-wise it's flawless and it could serve well as a backing track for image. |

Very well done. The live cello lifts it above similar sample-based orchestral tracks. |

Thanks for all the kind words guys! @emergeaudio I actually don't use any Vienna libraries. this is excellent, man. I liked the mix of the lyrical/emotional cello and the big orchestral sound which did not become intrusive.
thumbs up

You're receiving quite a lot of love, Blakus. Totally deserved, I'd say, but ... I think this track is not one of your best. The sound is phenomenal, perhaps a bit hyped in the highs, and the orchestration works well, especially the brass voicing at the end, but I can't help hearing just a 4 bar theme. I hope I'm not spoiling the party. |

Thank you ariston! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the feedback FLWrd, I totally understand what you are saying It is indeed just a simple 4 bar theme. In fact I found this hard to do, as I've done much study in composition/orchestration so that I could expand my musical language! However, the purpose of this piece required this simplicity - it is not designed to stand entirely on its own, but compliment a strong visual. Simple emotion and power. In a way I guess this is orchestral "pop" - Maybe I've been lucky enough for this piece to receive slightly more love because of this simplicity? A composer that I respect recently said that "if you can't write something interesting using basic pop structure and progressions, then forget it! Every composer should be able to put out a serviceable pop tune, because there's nothing to it! It's the same chords etc." I guess this is my attempt at creating something interesting using simple structure. ---- www.blakus.com / soundcloud.com/blakus-mfm Kontakt 5.0.3 inside VE PRO 4, Cubase 6.5.1 (64bit), Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel Core i7 3770k @3.9GHz, 32GB RAM |
