Hi guys
I have a mutable instruments Shruthi-1 that only sends NRPN Is it possible to convert those to CC's or should I give up forever. Best Topaz |

What OS are you on?
Mac: try MIDI Pipe or MIDI Patchbay (both free) Win: MIDI-OX or one of their other apps should do the trick Peace, Andy. |

Hi Andy, yeh Mac.
Tried midi pipe but totally confused by the whole NRPN thing. Will try patchbay and maybe send any monitor value too see what the shruthi is sending, I want to be able to record nrpn > cc into live (no nrpn support), and send back as CC. ZenPunkHippy wrote: What OS are you on?

It's MIDI Pipe that you want, and yes it is a bit tricky to setup initially as it's not very intuitive.
Anyway, I haven't tested this setup specifically, but you want something like this to convert NRPN input to CC's for Live ... and the opposite for output. Double-click "Message Converter" to add it to the list on the right. Set the values for NRPN in the lower left panel Select MIDI CC + number in the lower right panel The name in the top left selector is set by the user. ![]() |

Note: I just updated the image, because I think you need to wrap "Message Converter" with "MIDI In" and "MIDI Out" stages so that the MIDI is received from a specific interface, processed, and then sent to a port used by Live.
Peace, Andy. |

you can use ctrlr and a panel specially made for shruti
http://ctrlr.org/panels_deprecated/ or build something in Reaktor which I would also like to have. |

The panel I tried only send midi to shruthi, I want to convert shruthi nrpn knobs into cc,s that live can record then send back to shruthi.

You could do it in Reaktor, there is some ens for the DSI Tetra which convert nrpn to cc and back. But nothing for the shruti and my reaktor skills are not very good. |

complete head *uck
the shruthi sends 98 38 and something else. for each knob. its seems 1 number is coarse (maybe 9 I cannot, using midipipe get those numbers converted into simple CC15 etc etc that shruthi will receive. |

Yes, the problem is all live sees is cc38 and shruthi, although receiving standard cc only sends.
