Hello KVR.

I thought I'd re post this as a tribute to the late great Esbjörn Svensson's Birthday 04-16-1964

In case you don't know who he was, here's a bit about him and his delicious trio:

Esbjörn Svensson (April 16, 1964 - June 14, 2008) was a Swedish jazz pianist and founder of the jazz group Esbjörn Svensson Trio, commonly known as E.S.T.

Svensson became one of Europe's most successful jazz musicians at the turn of the 21st century before dying at the age of 44 in a scuba diving accident.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio (or e.s.t.) was a Swedish jazz piano trio formed in 1993 consisting of Esbjörn Svensson (piano), Dan Berglund (double bass) and Magnus Öström (drums). Its music has classical, rock, pop, and techno elements. It lists classical composer Béla Bartók and rock band Radiohead as influences. Its style involves conventional jazz and the use of electronic effects and multitrack recording.

When he died tragically I wrote this track in remembrance of him...I did it in Ableton Live, played the drums on the keyboard-the piano with synth guitar as my midi controller triggering Omnisphere's piano patch.

I don't pretend to be even close to his musicianship. I just used their music as inspiration.

Hey Chuck, how's it going?

I liked this one a lot. I'm not familiar with the music of Mr. Svensson and his trio, but if your piece is anything to go by, I will probably enjoy it.

I liked the smooth, jazzy chords and the way the track moved effortlessly through various changes in rhythmic style. Nice job with the percussion on here too. It was very enjoyable.

Good work 8)
