Bitwig 1.0.8 does not run on my laptop.
I cannot see even a splash-screen. At the same time, there are no mistakes. My laptop specs (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docu ... itle_r0001) meet all the requirements of the program.
OS: Windows 8.1
Is there any opportunity to debug this issue? Why is it so? Where can I look at crash logs?

Do you see Bitwig Studio.exe running in the Processes tab in the Task Manager?
You could also check for Application errors in the Windows event log viewer (Windows-key & R -> eventvwr.msc -> Windows Logs - Application).

Yes, I can see the program in the task manager after going, but the program fails in about 1 or 2 seconds.
As for Windows event log viewer, I have found the following error there https://gist.github.com/Andrew8xx8/1dc91dee2853bc1204fa.

Unfortunately the event log error message is not very informative.
Have you already tried to start Bitwig with administrative privileges?

You could disable your antivirus software temporarily.
And check for warning and error messages in the System event log.
Most likely you have already de-installed BWS and installed again?

I have tried to update drivers and then re-install BWS. There is still the same issue. There is no more specific information in logs. Do you have any ideas how to localize the problem?

Some ideas...
- did a previous version of BWS ever run on the same computer?
- uninstall BWS again and check for any files/folders left and clean them up before you re-install
- re-install with administrator privileges
- re-install to a different location (other than the default directory)
- temporarily disable any antivirus software (like already mentioned)
- check if BWS starts from within a different Windows user acoount

Additionally, before running the .exe, right click on the .exe and choose properties.
"Unblock" the download.
Then try installing and follow Protheon's advice.

The laptop sounds capable enough.
Did you try re-downloading the installer from your account or the demo page:
http://www.bitwig.com/en/bitwig-studio/download.html
Maybe it didn't download properly?
Cheers,
Tom

Hopefully 8xx8 will give us an update soon.8xx8 wrote:Yes, I have tried
If BWS still does not start, he should give Process Monitor a try:
