Hey, I wonder how to make a synth with a really "hard" attack, like a piano… If you don't understand what I am talking about, here's an example ;

I tried to remake the synth but there's a percussive sound during that comes with the attack that is missing :

I'm using Sylenth1 (as well as Leventina !) if it can help. Maybe white noise ? But then I don't really understand how to proceed to make it sound like an impact noise or something. I guess I need to use filters but how ?

Try some envelope modulating the pitch of one or both oscillators, depending on how many you use. Just need to have it very subtle, only open the decay of the envelope slightly, and add 10% wet signal of the envelope in the modulation matrix. Not sure if that's possible with Sylenth, as i don't know if it has a dedicated mod envelope, but it should have. It adds quite a bit of attack, but if you overdo it, it can affect the sound too much. As usual, just experiment. :) Or use a Tone 2 synth, they seem to have that sort of attack by default. :D

Oh, and note that there is a sub sound stacked under the saw sound, which makes it bassy. Either filtered saw or sine or triangle wave.

Thanks for the quick reply ! I'll try it. I took a look at Tone2 website and it seems like the only free synth they have is only available on PC. I can't afford anything at the moment and I'm not into the torrent/piracy thing so I'll have to wait a bit... It will give me enough time to listen to every previews of their synths I can find anyway haha, so that's not a problem.

I'm sure you can get that sound with Sylenth too though. No need to buy a new synth. :)

I still have to work on this but this is definitely what I wanted to have - more or less.
