Tried to make a couple instruments from this song.

This is very hard for me because so much is going on and there is so many effects.
Even trying to transcribe the midi at 50% speed was hard and probably still wrong. :( Arpeggios everywhere, so I can't tell what belonged to the same instrument :P

Bassline type at around 1:35

Sometimes editing a factory patch works out.

Melody starting around 5:50

This one doesn't sound as close to me. It is too buzzy. I tried to EQ some of it out. Also tried MB Compressor on end to compress the tail of 8khz and above. Couldn't get it. It also doesn't sound even close to as ..."big". Maybe I sued to wrong waveforms, wrong synth, I dunno. Suggestions on this one...or either one welcome.

Sounds ok after listening to it for hours, but I think I am just hypnotized. Timing doesn't seem right. Scoot bassline forward/backward? Doesn't go at all? I am thinking maybe after I get some of the other instruments and rolling bassline to go in I'll have a better idea.

I'd also love to get that instrument that comes in at 2:44, but I don't even know where to start on a sound like that. It has a lot of vibrato? Help on that one appreciated.

You can ask Avi if he gives you the Cubase project :D
I don't know.. I only know this time they used more hardware, Juno and stuff. The newer tracks are most of the time the typical plug-ins. This typical lead, sounds seems to me a bit like a legato lead I would try to reproduce this with FXPansion Strobe instead of Massive or Sylenth.
