I bought a copy of the 4K restored version of All that Jazz on bluray recently (one of my favourite films) and it turns out it's region locked (I suspected it would be but the problem is it is only available in bluray in the states) so I need a way to play it. My PS3 is locked down, won't touch it, so I was thinking of ripping it onto my Mac harddrive - however a search for bluray ripping tools that remove region codes (or player software that does this) just brings up what look like dodgy links - anyone know of a tool I can trust?

Not really, but from a PC perspective I'd say consider spending a few bucks on one rather than go for a free one - that seems to be the only way of doing it on PC.

Yeah I'm willing to pay - I just don't want to pay scammers.

I've used pavtube's stuff for several years, company seems reputable enough (hunt around the various bdripping forums). I've only used the pc versions but the mac ones should work the sameaMUSEd wrote:I was thinking of ripping it onto my Mac harddrive - however a search for bluray ripping tools that remove region codes (or player software that does this) just brings up what look like dodgy links - anyone know of a tool I can trust?

Thanks - can't see if it removes the region codes though

anything that rips bd/dvd is going to remove region locks, but I'd download the trial version to make sure it'll work ok for you (bd protection is a lot more complex than on dvds)aMUSEd wrote:Thanks - can't see if it removes the region codes though

I found this - it seems to play back the disk without asking about region codes so I don't need to rip anything:
