So it's finally out now after years of waiting ... I just got my free license because I'm owner of the old Air EQ (very generous of Fabrice, thank you!). Really liked the original Air EQ at the time, I still actually use it sometimes, even though I own things like Equilibrium too. Curious to try this new one now!

the air and the round sub bass this eq can add. I was so disappointed when the
shop was closed because I couldn't buy it. I'm at work right now, but can't wait to work
with it. I like the fact that you can switch off the analyser and just have knobs and sculpt with your the ears. GUI seems to be really classy...
I'm sure there's gonna be the classic thread "Aireq vs ProQ 2" !

Requires ilok... .. no thanks!
I'll just stick with my good ol' trusty DMG Audio EQuick... never let me down!

Got to say I have no regrets with Air. Appreciate it's a common saying so not break tradition...
"It's my goto" eq.
No need for ilok debates, it's part of the territory as far as Im concerned and respect those who avoid it.
What I like about this, apart from the GUI which is very plush in my book...the actual controls and tweaking is astoundinly versatile, comprehensive yet simple.
Like anything with sound, let your ears be the judge, but i do like visual feedback sometimes to help unmuddle what my "old" ears can't always determine as the root cause :•)
With the settings and versatility I would expect to see a lot of user presets popping up as starter points.
Overall I am loving it...but then I am Fabrice fanboy to be honest. F'ing genius.
Not used the 5.1 options, but the character settings are a winner.
Be interesting to see if the hardware prototype makes release and I suspect if it is also capable of general assignable CC's and price is not to steep, maybe an option. Time will tell.
I think if you have Fab ProQ2 you are likely to stick with it, but if you haven't and have/dont mind ilok...this eq is well worth the money and the promo price is ridiculous.
Well enough of my babbling...get it and you may regret the rest in your eq arsenal, or not?!
GUI PORN ALERT XxX

Yeah, I must admit that it looks great!
Just out of curiosity, how much CPU does it use? (and in comparison with DMG Audio EQs? )
This is very important for a "go-to" plug where multiple instances are needed.

I saw one or two comments on GS saying that it is very light on CPU. I don't recall the details of the DAW or configs...3ee wrote:Yeah, I must admit that it looks great!

This is one thing that's surprised me. Initially I thought it was goint to be pretty latent and hard hitting. Totally the opposite. Of course a lot will depend on your rig.3ee wrote:Yeah, I must admit that it looks great!

For me i72.66 12gb ram and RME ff800 everything either 5 years+ in age on win8.1 x64
I generally have at least 5 or 6+ instances of aireq Prem open, along with multiple other plugins.
It will and should not fry your work flow in ters of cpu hoggage. Not in my experience thus far anyway.

Eiosis installer seems to ignore the custom installation path for some reason. Even if you choose to install it on different drive (and not C:) it still does install shundreds of megabytes data on C: drive.
Yeah, it's not a big deal, but I don't have any extra disk space left on drive C (55 GB SSD, 6 GB empty space left and it's dedicated to system, Windows 7) and I use to install all the audio software on my F: drive. Eiosis installer dumps the program on C: (Program Data) and only uninstaller (+ VST2) on my F: drive.

Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

One of the original selling points behind AirEQ v1 was using your ears and not your eyes. Tweaking without looking at a spectrum.
Got my Free License this Morning as well, however, my Account doesn't exist anymore, so I'm waiting for Support to get back to me. Hopefully, it will not take years. I have three Eiosis products on my eLicenser.
Since I have an iLok2, that's one less issue to contend with.

Thank you very much Fabrice but I'll be containing my excitement for the moment. It’s my way to thank you and to put the troubles of the past behind us.

Funny enough, the names on the buttons ie shelf etc, can be renamed how you like. Part of your own personalization for presets and use. The frequency can be diplayed as notes or hz which i think many will find useful.V0RT3X wrote:I like the curve names

I recall there would be an AirEQ "regular" and an AirEQ Premium. Did they skip that concept and only released the Premium version?
Couldn't find any references to that on the site.

Pleased this is out and grateful for the free upgrade but I wish there was still an eLicensor version as I don't have an iLok - where can you get them most cheaply?

There is a 5.1 version included besides the "Premium" version.
After such a long time of silence (it must be 5 years?) a new version with some improvements and a lot of new features. I like the smooth curves and the new options Fabrice has included.
M/S support for every band, a new "Earth" band is added to the old and still existing "Air" band which is some kind of shelving (but I think it's a bit more than only a shelving filter).
And the best thing: it's free for AirEQ customers

Actually do you need a physical iLok or can you use the 'soft' authorisation now?
