Here's one I wrapped up recently, or at least it is as close to finished as I am likely to get it right now. It is a solo fretless bass composition, so yeah...not the type of thing that would attract much of an audience. I enjoyed working on it though and I hadn't tried writing anything like this in an eternity, especially on a fretless. Felt pretty good to just focus on bass playing again.
I lack the time to practice enough to play this without any mistakes...so I recorded it in pieces, and still made some mistakes. One day maybe I'll go back and redo this in a single take.

Beautiful - almost a meditative piece Ugo
Like you I used to play bass a lot but not so much
the last couple of years.
So I know the fretless can be difficult to tame
when it isn't played on a regularly basis.
Those mistakes you speak of are only little imperfections
which to my ears makes it all more human and worth listening
to.
Cheers

Nice track. I love this kind of thing. This is great music to help empty my head before (and probably during my next mix). It has such a warm and relaxing sound. I love the growl you're getting on the low notes. Much enjoyed here.
Good work

Nice work, ugo! I'm also a fellow bassist, although I sold my fretless earlier this year.
I like the tone of your bass. I'd love to know what gear/processing you used. Thanks!

Sounds fine to me exactly as it is. Something different to chill out to.
P.S.
Sometimes what we think are mistakes, our listeners regard as 'character'

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

Thanks everyone!
Cryophonik....here's the gear list for this track:
Pedulla Pentabuzz:
- Neck pickup (P) only
- Low mid boost switch on
- Bass with a 50% boost
- Treble with a 75% boost
The bass ran into an A-Designs REDDI, then into an NI Komplete Audio 6, and into Live.
Within Live, the signal first went into two chain rack:
Chain 1:
- Slate Virtual Channel
- DMG EQality
Chain 2:
- Recabinet (for a bit more body)
The output from the rack then was fed into the following, all in series.
- PSP Vintage Warmer
- Slate Virtual Mixbus
- Nomad Echoes (x2, each with different modes)
- CamelSpace (more delay)
- SoundToys Crystallizer (reverse delay)
- Guitar Rig (Stereo Tune and Reflektor)
- Blue Cat MB-5
- Ozone 4 (more reverb and harmonic exciter)
- EQuality (another tweak)
- Slate Virtual Tape Machine
- Elysia Alpha Master (for a bit of extra shine)
