I get a synchronization error logging in, so I'm unable to do so.
I'm unable to run the WavesQS app for them to remotely log in to diagnose the issue (it just poofs).

I am running as administrator so that isn't the issue.

Why make the process so beeping convoluted?? Give me a simple installer FFS!!!!

Apologies for the language. I'll tame it in a bit after I've calmed back down.

Man so do I.

I would love to be proven wrong on this and I would promptly apologize and eat humble pie. I remember downloading the demo of Silver (IIRC) years ago and couldn't get it to work then either.

In their defence though, the guy on the phone was extremely friendly, rather knowledgeable, and very apologetic. So their customer service seems to be ok, which is obviously essential when their programs/processes are this rubbish.

Ok now into constructive resolution mode:

What could cause a program to poof? It stays on the hourglass for a couple seconds and that's it.
It not an administrator thing, because I do have admin right and I've also tried this by "running as administrator".

I know this doesn't help you, but I actually find the Waves installers some of the best. You just choose what you want to install and it installs it. I also love their copy protection. Just download your licenses from the cloud and everything is authorized and ready to go.

Just want to give both sides, some of us are very happy with Waves.

Also their support is very good. You might do better asking them than here.

Dude I did mention their support, so one should realize I have already called them ;)

Anything like a firewall or an AntiVirus software. My guess is that it tries to phone home and is hindered to do so.

Thanks for this.

However:
- I've never had any issues with any other programs;
- I'm running McAfee (work PC) and I'm absolutely positive I'm not the only person on Waves' books doing so.

Is there a way to run it as a Super Administrator so to speak? ie, to bypass absolutely everything.

Jesus Mary and Joseph.

5 hours later and I'm sorted.

I had to boot the PC up in safe mode and run license centre.
I then activated the licenses onto a USB stick. It simply refused to go straight to the PC.
Restarted in ordinary mode and reinstalled the entire lot.

What an absolute f*cking faff.

So after all that am I sold? Nup. I'm not going to jump through hoops to get this stuff working.

Boah, license center in safe mode? Yeah, that's a way to go around all the doorkeepers. Not very elegant though. Strange that the guy at the Waves hotline doesn't know square about it.
Glad you got it sorted out. Not very encouraging though...

Thanks mate 8)

I am glad I got it sorted in the end. Not for the plugs, but for the fact it would drive my OCD crazy by not having a resolution on it.

The plugs would have to be pretty darn special for me to want to boot in safe mode every time I added a new licence. Besides that the need to carry around a USB stick, as the computer sync option still refuses to work.

So in summary, I'm out. I'm happy they work for other people, they're just not for me.

Maybe because it is not needed and nobody else has to do it ?

Fancy talking me through it then o wise one?

What would cause WavesQS to poof?
What would cause LC to not synchronize?
