Hello together.

My name is Peter and I live in Germany. I am new here in the forum and I'd like to ask you for your assessment.

In the past few month I did some tracks which I uploaded on soundcloud. Now I would like to publish a little selection, let's say 2 or 3 tracks to another music platform (like spotify or iTunes). For me it is very difficult to decide which track I should work on (sound optimization, mastering) to bring it to the quality level which is required for platforms like mentioned above...

So I would be very happy if you guys could help me with this. Here are some links to my short-listed tracks:
Thank you so much! Peter

Hey man,

Just listened TRD, going through your list as I'm writing this. I'm really liking the feeling of this track, it's a vibe that brings me back to when I was younger, when this kind of trance music was really taking off. That european trance effect. Really nice I enjoyed that a lot, I can relate to that melody on many levels. I'd love to give some more constructive feedback on the mix but I don't have access to my better headphones right now so I'd rather avoid giving any guidance from an inaccurate listen.

Mongo Bongo is really fun. That drum selection is well expressed and prominent. I like your bass riff too. In terms of anything constructive I can give (and take it lightly due to what I said), your hi hats felt a little sharp and edgy to me, some reverb and light cutting of the highs could probably go a decent way in softening the edginess of those. That's just my opinion though, not necessarily necessary. I really enjoyed the melody that approached toward the end of the track, gave me that trancy feeling again.

Just Do It has a really punchy effect to it, and its intro engaged my attention quite effectively. The second part is really cool, but I didn't like how it was layered over the first part as a way to bridge them together, just because they are in playing on different scales so they don't blend well for me. If you maybe used buildup sounds as opposed to the second melody layered overtop I'd personally prefer that sort of thing. The main theme later into the track is great, I'm really digging your vibe man. Cool work.

Feel the Groove has a nice selection of sounds, and I'd say I prefer the arrangement of sounds over the melody itself. I liked the melody in the middle part that comes in right around 1:13, though the rest of the track's melody was a little monotone for me, but that's just because I particularly love colourful melodies. The sound you used in that middle portion could use a bit of lowpass or bell notch EQing to cut down on the harshness of that high part of the sound that seems to stand out over the rest of the track when the accompaniment comes in. Right at 1:42 the way you broke it down into that open space felt really nice, but following that I wasn't as engaged due to what I said earlier.

Keep Moving's intro feels really nice. I like your choice of sounds here. I feel like you excel pretty well at making trancy ambient spaces. Sounds great. I find the rest of the track to again be monotone in comparison to where I would have liked the track to progress. In my ears, experiementing with further chord progressions could have gone a long way to give some diversity to the track. But your trancy intro that you used throughout the track is great, and I'd love to see more of that sort of thing with some more colourful melodic elements expressed to diversify.

All in all your mixes are sounding good from where I'm listening and I'm liking your stuff. Good work man I look forward to hearing more :)

Cool man I'm glad my words were of some value to you. It feels like you're definitely on the right track, exploration and experimentation will in time reveal to you what you do best in terms of composition and orchestration. I'll be glad to check out some more of your work :). Here's my new page I've recently started: www.soundcloud.com/renderaudiation
