New video added on Jan 16. I was going for a retro sci-fi, trapped inside the computer theme. A bit strange but I think it fits the subject matter of the song.

Finally had a chance to finish this one. The lyrics are on the SoundCloud link.

Using a minimal set of synths this time: Monark, Electra2, Drumatic4, OBXD

For this one, I added The Drop and Lexicon PCM Native Reverb to the growing effects arsenal.

Any feedback is appreciated.

It's cool, but I think it's missing a more ubiquitous haunting base-line, which I love in some of your other tracks. Vocals are great. Will listen to it some more in the days to come.

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback Jackoo. Yes, this time the bassline is playing more of a supporting role rather than being a propulsive, upfront element. It seemed appropriate to me for this kind of dark, atmospheric song.

Glad you thought the vox were OK. They are always a source of concern. :phew:

Like the mix of sounds which sound empty yet full at the same time! ;)
Interesting lyrics and enjoyed the disembodied vocal style... :)

Sounds Good. A bit weird for me, but still, it sounds nice. Good Job.

Not my style at all, but really well made! Seems you have put a lot of time into this.

I wasn't aware of The Tic Tock Men. I can hear the similarity to my style. It appears that they were actually a group. Doing some googling, one of them has a solo project called Seven Graylands that I really like. It is less electronic but I find the songwriting and arrangements more interesting than The Tic Tock Men. For example:

:tu: Sounds good Frantz! Kinda wraps a Numan, DM, early Simple Minds vibe all up in one.

The only weak spot for me was the synth solo before the final chorus... thought you could have done something a little more adventurous there. Also, maybe just me but I thought the track could stand to be a hair faster (bpms).

Actually I had the sense of early Depeche Mode vibe as well. I'll have to give it a better listen from a proper device later. :-)

Was there an effect on your voice, like subtle ring modulation maybe?
