Postby musiclee; Tue Mar 03, 2015 9:03 am NEW!!! AmpleSound Guitar... Ukulele

I am asking, wanting, hoping that you guys will add to your guitars by introducing a "Ukulele"
I call it a cavaquinho (in my country)

The Ukulele is such an awesome instrument and can be heard in many popular songs like "Bruno Mars, I'm Yours", and "Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's, What a Wonderful World"

I would use it for Brasilian music, samba, bossa nova, pagode, partido alto, etc
stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSGZgBMWfH0

I know 8Dio has a Ukulele VST, Wavesfactory also does,
but with the AmpleSounds engine it would be totally AWESOME!!!

What do you guys think?

Thanks guys, your pic looks very nice :) we will do an Ukulele in future, and we have bought a very nice one, absolutely better than Martin's. but the important project for us is that Electric guitar II and Bass II.

You may notice that the tune of Ukulele strings is different with guitars, it is "G3 C2 E3 A3" likes a "V", so the capo logic must be totally different, we have not idea how to design a perfect logic for Ukulele fingering so far.

Ample Sound

Glad you like my pic, was practicing my photoshop skills :-)

As far as Capo, I don't think the Ukulele uses, if what you mean is changing key with that metal piece on the neck
Would be great if Ukulele gets sampled with finger and pick
Maybe would be worth speaking to professional Ukulele players to get idea how it all works.
That Brasilian guy In video is VERY good, I've been in touch with him and can ask him anything if you need me to.
I would recommend seeing all the 8Dio videos on their ukulele VST's and Wavesfactory too but their engine is not robust like yours.
If you guys could pull off that Ukulele , man that would rock
Keep in Mind that Ukulele is not just for Hawaiian music
It's used for pop, reggae, Brazilian music
Many styles, and in that video I linked you'll see 1 Brazilian rhythm with lots of semi muted chords
I can send more links if needed

What do you think the timeframe would be to get this ukulele recorded?

Whatever I can do to make this a reality, "I'm Yours". 8)

Perhaps hiring a professional ukulele player for the day that's familiar with lots of styles including pop, portuguese, brasilian Hawaiian. Etc

We need muted up. Muted down. Semi muted chords
Not sure if semi muted would be your engine doing that

The actual strums are not recorded I assume?
It's your engine that's does that?

All you do is record the notes, fret noises. Body hits. Muted strings ?
F v
Curious as to how it all comes together...

so i researched capos for ukulele, i guess they do exist...

maybe there is some info here, it talks about transposing a little
http://liveukulele.com/gear/capos/

check out this song, so raw, i love it...

Postby musiclee; Wed Mar 04, 2015 7:51 am Re: New AmpleSound Guitar... Ukulele

so i researched a bit more on tunings, and of course the ukulele has various, unlike a regular guitar
and of course there are many sizes of ukulele but most common is the soprano:
A4-D4-F#4-B4 or
G4-C4-E4-A4 (most common)

ukuleles from Portugal can have any of these tunings:
D G B E
G D E A
G C E A (most common)
D A B E

but the traditional tuning in Brasil is:
D G B D (1st and 4th string 1 octave apart)

i think this is very important to consider when developing this VST,

how can we switch the tuning of this instrument to match the playing style of so many different people?
so the capo is not so important than the actual tuning of the instrument in my opinion...

Hello

I know this is the AmpleSounds forum
But just wanted to let you guys know that AcousticSamples JUST released a Ukulele VST
I wish it wasn't a tenor ukulele, as the tone is a bit low, but it looks cool...

Perhaps AmpleSounds will give us a soprano ukulele?
That is my preference. :-) For brasilian music at least.

Check it out everyone... And post your thoughts

Check out the audio AND video sample.
