My Line 6 Pod Studio KB37 was recently damaged and needs repair or replacement. As it would seem that Line 6 are bringing the production of this product to an end I am considering looking at an alternative.

What I'm looking for is a basic midi controller keyboard (minimum of 37 keys) with a built in audio interface and condenser mic input/phantom power - basically everything that the KB37 can do.

I've been using this thing for years now and am really not aware of what else is on the market that would be comparable within the same price range. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I had a KB37 for a while ... I actually sent 3 back because of various faults. One of them arrived with a moth inside the VU meter. I couldn't find an all in one replacement at the time, so ended up with a Novation ReMOTE 25 and NI Audio Kontrol 1 (which I still use).

Novation have the Impulse range out now :

Not sure if there's a 37 key version.

DV247 have the KB37 in stock for £179 ...

Haha! I absolutely hate moths so the thought of that sends shivers down my spine. I seem to be lucky as I never had problems with the KB37 (recent damage was my own fault) though I've seen many stories online about people having problems with theirs.

Impule isn't available in 37 keys unfortunately. Yeah I am thinking of just getting aother KB37 even though they are basically just selling off the last stock from what I've heard at this point. Just figured there must be some sort of alternative with the same set of features out there though.

Has anyone else got any suggestions for a replacement for my KB37? Looking for a 37 key midi controller with a similar set of inputs and audio interface.

Secondhand Novation X-Station or possibly Xio Synth could work. Downside is X-Station has 16 bit audio. I think Behringer just released something with a 24bit sound card and automated faders.

Both have 25 keys only though and not sure if they have the same input options as the kb37.

X-Station comes in 25, 37 and 61 key versions, Xiosynth comes with 25 or 61 keys. The X-Station has USB, Midi in/out/thru and audio in/out ... I think the Xio is the same. What input options do you need?

There's also these from Behringer :

UMX comes in 25, 49 and 61 key versions. The UMA is 25 key only ....

Ah sorry my mistake! Thanks a lot for the suggestions by the way. The inputs needed are at least one xlr with phantom power for condenser mic as well as a few standard jack inputs also for guitars and so on.

The trouble with the Xio and X-station being only available second means I may as well just get another KB37 though second hand as I know this model well after years of use. Was hoping there was something new on the market with similar features currently available.
