Hey

Installed Beta 6 over beta 5, but i fails to start.

I getting message on cmd-line: illegal instruction.
Beta 5 and previous 1.0 and 1.1 versions worked perfectly. I don't think it has something to do with architecture, all executable files are 64-bit.

Anyone idea?

1.2 beta-6 works fine here on 64-bit ArchLinux. Are you sure your copy wasn't corrupted during the download?

Post

1.2b6 runs fine here under Gentoo 64bit ...

I've downloaded second time and 3rd time with chrome.
Filesize and md5sum is the same. Installing gives no problem, but starting gives the same issue.

Size: 205034948 Bytes
Md5sum: b384a540d086f45f234ffa9f041121e2

Can someone verify this?

This usually happens if an application has been compiled with optimization for a too new processor type. Nothing you can do about it. Bitwig should recomplile with a more conservative arch type.

Yes had that in my mind also but, i would find it strange that they change it from one beta to another beta in this stage. My cpu supports SSE3 what i required so it's a question so far.

Looks like my files are also ok.

I'll contact support.

That's it.

AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor + Gentoo + Bitwig 1.2b6 -> works
Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000 + Gentoo + Bitwig 1.2b6 -> Illegal instruction

Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000 + Gentoo + Bitwig 1.2b5 -> works

So yes. Houston, we have a problem ... ;)

Thank you paulbreeze for the confirmation! :)

Does this mean that it is not as optimized for newer cpus?
