Something similar to Adobe Audition/Spectral Display

Wondering if there are any programs that have similar spectral display features. Looking to get rid of unwanted sounds. Preferably cheaper than Adobe. I'm on a tight budget but need something that will do the job. Any suggestions?

Blue Cat FreqAnalyst Pro ($99) does 2D and 3D spectral analysis and is highly configurable.

Wait, are you looking for an analyzer or an editor? If you're looking for an editor, Izotope RX is arguably the best, but not cheap. Stillwell has Spectro, which is cheap ($50), but I've never used it.Ridan wrote:Wondering if there are any programs that have similar spectral display features. Looking to get rid of unwanted sounds.

Thanks guys. Looking into the suggestions now.
-Izotope rx seems perfect, but way too much atm. Will demo it anyway though.
-Stillwell Spectro is looking very tempting. Great price too.
Definitely looking for an editor. It would be nice to have a draw/erase tool as well, but can live without it.cryophonik wrote:Wait, are you looking for an analyzer or an editor? Have you tried the free Audacity? They upgraded it quite a bit recently with noise reduction learning, and it has a spectral view. Might be workable.

I had no idea Audacity had that feature. Will download the newest version and see where that leads. Thanks!

Edison has it. So I can assume standalone izotope RX has it too.

This looks promising. Thanks!pottering wrote:http://isse.sourceforge.net/index.html
@tooneba - I have given Edison a try in the past, but for some reason (don't know why) the workflow just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe I just didn't spend enough time with it. Was a while ago. I'll give it another go.

I recall an early version of Adobe Audition (the first one after the rename from CoolEditPro) was made available for free. I think it was version 2 or 3... Doesn't that version already have spectral editing? Later versions just became more bloated.
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

You might be right. Will look around for earlier versions. Stellar suggestion.BertKoor wrote:I recall an early version of Adobe Audition (the first one after the rename from CoolEditPro) was made available for free.
