Hi kvr!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4V-1o0ZfFk&app=desktop

It's ARP Odissey. I will do on VSTi realm (I have Komplete, Synthmaster, Z3ta, and others)

From this article: http://www.keyboardmag.com/lessons/1251 ... ssey/52381 seems thatI will need a Ring Modulator.

Any tips or suggestions?

After some discussion on NI Forum, I managed to get close enough using reaktor. The topic there: https://www.native-instruments.com/foru ... or.263156/

Hi,
I think with the free ODsay by elektrostudio you can get close. Simply follow the tutorial.

Important is the Duo mode, ring modulator and playing technique.

Yes! A patch that depends on 2 'simple' things tat I had on none of my vstis :)

Well, I'm on Mac... But I already solved with Reaktor! Thanks Chris-S!

You could get the Oddity 2 by GForce which actually has that very patch on it. It's called "Bite the Hand Duo". Or you could get the demo and dissect it.

I did! I also read and listened a lot about Arp Odyssey and it seems like a really wonderful synth :)

Yeah the Oddity 2 is pretty cool. It also now has polyphony so makes nice pads and has tons of modulation with V2.

The ring mod + duophonic mode is my favourite thing in analog synths though. Others that can do this type of sound are impOscar (also by GForce) and Diva and Zebra (u-he).

They actually included a factory patch based on The Hand That Feeds? That's cool

The moment that I lament that I don't have anything from u-he and no budget at all to buy the GForce synths :(

Before reading this thread I did not know what the Duo Mode is good for. ;)

Not only this one, but I see other patches named after Nin Songs (Copy of A, by example)

Cool, what ensemble did you use?

I think this kind of thing could be achieved really well with the new blocks in Reaktor 6 as well as they've made it easier to insert different modules like a ring mod. And duophonic mode can be achieved with note priority to high and low of two input modules.

I created one following this discussion: https://www.native-instruments.com/foru ... or.263156/

BTW, Ring Modulator is easy on Reaktor: you just multiply one oscillator for the other.

The hardest part was the duophonic thing. Reaktor 6 has a block ready to do this, but 5.9 (that I have don't). After some days of discussion there teknojunque pointed me a solution using a macro borrowed from NI Monark (I think that the blocks that do this on Reaktor 6 should be using the same macro, or something similar).
